The fact that Willis suggested Jackson for the movie and that Jackson was such a fan of the first one that he "seen the first Die Hard maybe thirty times." and the fact that Jackson considers Zeus Carver to be the "closest character to my personality of any that I've played." just makes this one of the best movies.

How the f--- did they shoot this scene is what I want to know? It looks exactly like Central Park. Would the city really let them shoot this on site? Probably just creative editing between the shots of the cab and the shots of the park, but nice work there in any case, could have fooled me. That's one of many major props I have to give to this movie, it's very realistic in that everywhere they go in NYC is a real place, and whether or not it was shot there, they made it look exactly like the real thing. Even the Federal Reserve Bank lobby, although they won't let you see inside the whole vault.... The only unrealistic thing there is that it would take weeks of drilling or blasting to tunnel through the Manhattan Schist surrounding the real vault. But they do actually have that much gold in it. Also little known fact, the aqueduct that brings water from the Catskills to NYC is the longest tunnel of any type in the world. (Editors fix: they ARE in fact building a new one , and the aqueduct scenes from the movie were shot in it!) nor are trucks allowed on the FDR, it's not just a recommendation, a dump truck would likely crash into a bridge Most movies just have L.A. stand in for every other city, with maybe some exterior shots, for example, "The Rock" chase scenes were set in San Francisco but clearly shot in L.A. because of the distinctive white-on-blue street signs. Attention to detail they got right, it's easily my favorite of the original "Die Hard" trilogy.
@MazBringsby5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, its a lot of fun from beginning to end. Best of the Die Hard movies in my opinion as well..

They could have closed off the entire Central Park perimeter and any roads the scene was on. The movie may have had locals as extras, but were probably instructed to stand in a spot then run away from the taxi/stay out of its way. That is the best guess I got. I would also assume if anyone did get hurt while shooting this scene, paramedics were on standby.

What an intense, iconic, unforgettable scene. A scene that they don't make it like they use to anymore, since at the time, with chases like these, they'd make it as a realistic as possible. The introduction where they get together, and begin there dynamic duo, and how they're both opposites, but in the end, become best friends for the amount of respect they have for each other, alongside changing each other's perspectives. A scene that puts you on the edge of your seat with what was going to happen next, which kept you wondering & focused. Humorous as well. A legendary film, from such an iconic storyline/series of John McClane. A film that comes very close to the first film in being the greatest with the first film being first. A legendary cast, storyline, soundtracks, comedy, lots of action, intensity and emotion. Bruce Willis as John McClane truly never fails, and adding Samuel really makes it even more dynamic & iconic with there duo/partnership, like who knew it would be perfect chemistry, literally a masterpiece, like who knew they would work so well together. Like I said earlier, sad that they don't make movies like these anymore, truly way ahead of its time, and a great throwback to the original & first film. 4.30.23 (A movie I got myself, for my birthday on the 19th of April alongside my twin brother @E.D).

I actually like Vengeance more than Die Hard 2. Not only was Willis great but Jackson was perfect as the sidekick. Obviously the saner one of the two but he didn't do anything over the top and you really start to see them grow as a team/friends towards the end. And Irons was excellent as the villain. The main villains in all the other Die Hards were forgettable. It was asking a lot to keep up with Willis for a Die Hard sequel, especially as his sidekick.... but Jackson was amazing (amazing actor so no surprise) and Irons was great (also an amazing actor).
