DIESEL Hybrid?! 2024 Mazda CX-60 Takumi First Drive
Hello guys, welcome back to Car Obsession and the last of the three videos I filmed at the recent Mazda Media Drive Day in which I also drove the MX-5 and the Mazda2 Hybrid. The 2024 Mazda CX-5 is also available with a 2.5 four-cylinder petrol, but the focus in this video is the 3.3 litre inline (not V) 6 engine, which feeds it power to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
0-62 is done in 7.4 seconds and the top speed if you're really interested is 136mph. In regard to running costs, the CX-60 in this configuration can achieve up to 54.3mpg and CO2 emissions are 139g/km.
The Mazda CX-60 is available in three trim levels, Exclusive-Line, Homoura and Takumi, with starting prices ranging from £45,320 through to £49,520.
Standout features for the Exclusive-Line include power tailgate, black leather seats, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, keyless entry, 18” alloys, head-up display, dual-zone climate control, LED lights, front and rear parking sensors, reversing camera, 12.3” infotainment screen. 12.3” digital driver’s display, and a strong host of safety systems.
The Homoura trim level, which starts from £47,170 adds to this with black 20” alloys, ventilation for the front seats and heater outer rear seats, 12 speaker Bose sound system, electric adjustment for the front seats, handsfree power tailgate and changes to the interior/exterior design.
Then you have the Takumi, which is featured in this video. With a starting price of £49,520, this range topping version adds black machined 20” alloys, Nappa Leather trim finished in white and White Maple Wood interior accents.

Interesting review mate, interesting car too. Takumi is also used, iirc, by Iwata for their top flight airbrushes - it means 'unequalled master craftsman/artisan one that goes above and beyond' Nice looking motor, but me being old skool? Prices like that frighten me. Unlike some I won't go into debt to own a car - even though I love cars. Seems to me that the WEF saying is ringing true 'you'll own nothing and be happy'. At those prices, most will be buying on a loan basis I imagine. In 40 years of driving I've owned four brand new cars, paid cash, looks like it'll be second or third hand from now on🤔🤔 Nice to see a fully round steering wheel on a normal car. I thought tyre noise seemed low too. Off Road mode? Is that traction control based? Mind you with some of the potholes etc on our - deliberately - under funded roads, on road is off road in places nowadays 😲🙄💔 Over all a nice motor if a little pricey. Hydrogen or synthetic fuel would be an interesting alternative though🤔

Interior is quite nice in this CX60 but I miss the discontinued Mazda 6 which looked sleek and elegant in my opinion. But alas Saloons/sedans are no longer popular and SUV/CUV are king for some🤷🏽

Yeah I like the Mazda 6 and it's a shame that the D segment of cars is dying but everything is just SUV this, and SUV that - BORING.
