I’ve owned the base model 2024 CX 5 S Select in Rhodium White for about a month. There is no black plastic cladding around the wheels and front and back. There are several shots in the video of this particular car. I think it makes the CX 5 look very classy as opposed to all the other vehicles in this category. Once again, that’s very subjective. If you like black plastic as an accent, other models of the CX 5 offer that. The things he mentions here as possible drawbacks are also very subjective. The “stop-start “ technology is not on the 2024’s as the components needed to have that feature became scarce. I can honestly say I’m happy that is the case…didn’t want it. This cabin in this car is very quiet at highway speeds. The interior has way nicer materials than any other vehicle in this class. The base 4 cylinder is peppy in urban scenarios with a real six speed tranny … no CVT and it’s plenty adequate on the open road. I’m getting 25 mpg combined city and highway and around 30 on the highway. I’m sure that will improve as the engine breaks in. The infotainment system is different, but my wife and I found the learning curve quite easy and we’re not youngsters. This is a “driver’s” car. It’s has a very unique feel. The sense of being connected to the road you get makes it a lot of fun. It reminds me of an Audi I once drove. In closing, I test drove several SUV’s in this class and chose the CX 5. Im told it’s pretty much what it has been since being introduced in 2013 with some improvements made over time. It certainly is unique, probably not for everyone but very addictive to me. 👍

Colour coded wheel arches are standard on all models as of 2024, though it may also be country specific. IStop is also country specific depending on pollution laws. It may even be state specific in the US.
@StéphaneDussault-b7y7 ай бұрын
Colour wheels arche are not included for all CX5 in Québec (Canada) just CX5 Turbo have it. With a real winther it's not a good idea, it's will be scatch in few month...good look on the show room but on the streets, with real 4 seasons, it's not a good thing. Get a regular black (plastic) arches weel.

@@StéphaneDussault-b7ywell, if what your saying is true about scratches, there are a lot of upscale vehicles in other brands that don’t have plastic cladding around the wheels. I guess those owners will be sorry they didn’t get the cheap looking black vinyl on their 50K Caddies or their 70k Beemers 😂 .

The seats are poorly designed, the base of the seat is very narrow and too short in length. Also the materials used, fabric especially, is kind of mid quality. I don’t know what other cars you saw before buying this one, but I can tell you that seating quality overall is poor in the CX5. I have the 2022 model base engine, manual transmission. Both the Tucson and Sportage have better seats. Not to mention the CR-V. I live in Europe. The CX5 is very appreciated here too, but 2 years later, I regret not testing it for longer before buying. Had the Rav4 2007 before this. Crappie seats there too. Apparently, if you want good seats in a Japanese car you have to step up to Lexus.

Come on, you don't buy a car because you not like the radio/audio...it's crasy...The CX5 is a real fun small SUV to drive, very good look, best interior, no motor problem in regular or turbo version, no bad feeling with a CVT, good AWD...radio/audio it's so not important.

Mazda has an issue with ghost touch on the infotainment system after a few years. Not sure if this is across the board with other brands but is common with Mazda. My 2020 Cx 5 had this issue 3 years in. Wondering if this was fixed with the 2024. It should be a recall issue. Totally ruins the driving experience when your radio changes channels, deletes and adds presets and calls your friends on its own.

I'm old school and don't like hybrid or plugged in vehicles. I also like vehicles that can get on the highway with some power to it. I'm not sure about these 4 cylinder engines though and heard bad stories about turbo...I'm on the fence with mazda and acura (was told acura has a bigger engine and are alot nicer ride BUT more expensive. Is it worth the money? No idea as I don't know much about acura vehicles. I was told to look at the rav4? If all else fails I might even look into nissan or toyota camry, camry's are sharp looking to me but rather have 4 wd in PA.

I have a late 2023 Mazda CX-5 Exclusive-line with DAP. It's front wheel drive. 163bhp, petrol, automatic transmission. No turbocharger and it is 1998cc. I came from a Renault Kadjar only 4 years old 2019 model. It was a piece of crap, the electronics radar would detect phantom objects at speed on the motorway here in England and turn everything off. The turbocharger blew in Covid Lockdowns with just over 5k miles. It was the top-of-the-range GT-LINE. My Mazda CX-5 has been selected from a poor selection of vehicles available here in the UK. Since Brexit, Covid and 14 years of austerity the UK is on its knees. Quality control is out of the window. I am EAL (engineering) and IMI (automotive) accredited so I know when I am being lied to. I am a disabled driver and have built my own manual wheelchair because of the rubbish available on the world's markets. I design and make my own mobility aids. I am a lifetime learner, can build almost anything including the electronics. I know when people lie. My next car will be a Mazda CX-5. It's fast, I have been 204mph on one of my adapted for my disabilities, motorcycles. It's comfortable, easy to get in and out because of the handle above the driver's door. (Think on Koreans) Yes, any vehicle is thirsty when you get a move on but if your brakes are binding or tyres are under inflated, your fuel consumption will go up exponentially. People make me laugh because the worst offenders are those racing up behind other vehicles and to red traffic lights. Why? Accelerate and then apply the brakes, that's where their economy is suffering and all because they have failed to read the road ahead. They are their own worst enemy. It's not the cars fault but their's. It's their incompetence to correctly evaluate themselves. I just take what ever people say with a pinch of salt because we could all become misunderstanding, aggressive, reactionary, listeners.
