First time I have ever seen a Wal Mart container on a train.

Yeah, it's not something you see very often, making it a bit of a novelty. But that's one less truck on the freeway.

Nice video. I've been passing by this hill on the East end of the yard since the mid 1950s and they still haven't got it level. Curious as to camera used. FPS, Flash memory , Makers?

So I just watched a video on the attempt to move big boy 4018 and want to know where it's located?
@TrainTrackTrav7 жыл бұрын
4018 is on display in Frisco, Texas.

i was looking at the location on googlemaps and there doesn't seem to be a sidewalk!
@TrainTrackTrav5 жыл бұрын
Nope, no sidewalk. Never has been. We just stand on the side of the bridge. The road isn't very busy, and railfans have been coming to this location for decades.

@TrainTrackTrav7 жыл бұрын
BNSF runs a daily train to and from Barstow from this yard. It's not an uncommon sight at all. :)

What's with all the "luggage"? I've stayed a WEEK at motorcycle rallies, and never needed more than I could strap to my sissy bar! What are these guys doing to "work up a sweat" that they need all these extra clothes? 🤔 I'm just curious...

those are some huge fans on the top of those engines, guessing those are for to help keep the engines cool, just the the fans on vehicles engines?>?
@TrainTrackTrav7 жыл бұрын
Correct. Cooling fans are the rear most ones. The other fans are dynamic brake fans.
