I just put your bushing in my 01 audi TT, my bushings were not even in bad shape, they were totally intact and totally pliable but I changed them regardless being as I was that far apart. Your bushings were a VAST improvement over the OEM bushings, its a much tighter feeling shifter now!

After the bushing falls apart, the cable disconnects from the linkage and hence stays in what ever gear it was in last, then not being able to shift afterwords at all. thank you for the grate info and fix. parts ordered.

Hi. I changed entire shifter and gearlinkage. Good learning etc but still have exactly the same problem; all gears perfect but still no 1st whether engine on or off. Physically it just wont shift almost like a bar is in the way. 2005 audi a3 uk 1.6 petrol. Cheers

dieselgeekdotcom hi cables went on easily and replacement worked when i had it on the floor b4 fitted. Im guessing could be a fork problem. I did wonder if there are any pics of the part that sits/bolts on top of the gearbox...there is a white plastic moving socket which slides and holds the balljoint...could this be worn? Thanks for the video .. I am learning all these .. may I ask does all gear box work the same? As underneath the gear box.. they all connected to the 2 cables? I'm always curious how the stuck connected to , or do you have any other videos showing it.. thanks

When you refer to the play and "slop", is that when its in gear I take it? There should be zero movement?

One note.. you need to take half car apart to access the bottom of that box..

We have a procedure for accessing the front to back cable end bushing with the box installed in the car. This is far easier than replacing the cable which requires removing the box from the vehicle from below. We shot a nice video demonstrating how to remove the center console without breaking anything.

Hey Jim I ordered both your cable saver and first gear getter bushings and installed them and it seems to have reduced alittle but I still seem to have quite abit of side to side slop and was curious what you think that could be

Thanks for the support that is very cheap, i will make an order. I suppose that is the same model as for the 1.9 TDI 96kw Fabia vrs 2006, all parts look the same, by eyes, are there some hidden differences?
