I have never met a carnivorous human who didn't care about animal welfare. Have you? We are not angry, we are kind, inclusive, positive and helpful, because we are healthy and FEEL GOOD.
@Kyarrix4 ай бұрын
This is correct. I try to only buy sustainably raised beef, grass-fed, grass finished, treated with kindness and decency. We owe that to animals. They fertilize the fields, they provide food, they have the right to be treated well. I won't buy meat that comes from conventional farms, I won't buy it if it was raised in a concentrated animal feeding operation, in a feedlot. We owe better to animals. For the vegetarians and vegans who think that their way of eating is better for animals, it isn't. Read the great plant-based con by Jayne Buxton as a start. There is no diet where something doesn't die. I don't like that truth, I don't like that reality but it is true. Mass agriculture kills more animals than carnivores do. The carnivore will eat a cow over the course of months. Combines in fields kill thousands of small furry animals and birds everyday. Leveling habitats for monocropping destroys the environment. Most of the carnivores I know are also concerned with animal rights. They want animals to be treated decently, fairly, to be raised with kindness, responsibly. When we feed animals corn and soy they become metabolically sick. We are what we eat, they are what they eat also. The same goes for eggs and dairy, eggs from pasture-raised chickens. Dairy from pasture raised cows. I wish it were possible to eat a healthy diet, I genuinely healthy diet without killing anything. That would make me happiest but it isn't possible and we have to accept that, recognize it and act accordingly. That means eating a primarily carnivore diet for me but doing so responsibly. I won't eat at fast food restaurants, I don't eat processed food, and I spend more money for sustainably raised meat, dairy and eggs. Some might say that's too expensive but it isn't, I don't drink soda, I don't eat snacks, I don't eat five or six times a day, when you break it down buying good quality meat allows us to be healthier and that saves money. For someone who is struggling financially, it's possible to buy ground beef in big packages. When I was in school I struggled to feed myself, I recognize that being able to buy good quality food is not something everyone can do. But everyone can make a decision to eat better. Responding to the other thing you said, I have encountered many ragingly angry vegans and vegetarians, they don't get enough carnitine in their diets, they aren't feeding their brains and as a result frequently have mental health issues. I'm not saying that to be disparaging, it is an unfortunate reality. Almost 2/3 of us cannot make sufficient carnitine. We have to get it from our food.

High protein and high fat eating has put all my issues into remission, including numerous autoimmune conditions. I figured this out in massage therapist school, happy to see doctors like this & Dr. Chris Palmer figuring it out too. Delighted to hear their successes in this area.

There is some if you're eating a lot of pork or poultry, as their feed often contains LA and their fat reflects their own diets. Beef is a safer option if that's a primary concern. Some farmers are specifically trying to raise pork and poultry with a better ratio.

I’m SDA. We get the plant based diet from the Bible. In the Old Testament, the book of Daniel. It’s called the Daniel diet. Also Genesis. But there are many SDA’s who are not vegan or vegetarian. Our focus is just to live as healthy as we can and to help others too, and treat our God-given bodies the as healthy as we can. Having said that, I am not saying being carnivore is not healthy. Just trying to answer the question more appropriately.

If you spent the previous 70 or so years eating a high-carb diet, then it could take a while to regain metabolic health. Or it's possible you'll never reverse all the damage. This might mean you'll have to be more strict in eliminating carbs. Instead of doing merely keto, you could consider ketovore (ketogenic carnivore diet). You might even have to be careful about too much protein at a single meal. Primarily focus on fats with moderate protein and no carbs.

Ede is pulling her punches by making a weaker argument. In fact, if an individual is fat-adapted, the brain will use more ketones than glucose. Keep in mind that much of the rest of the body will use even more ketones. And the body will produce enough glucose from fats and amino acids, without eating any carbs at all. Also, it's not only that fetuses and infants are always in ketosis. Dr. Angela Stanton has tested children. Every child she has had as a patient, no matter their diet, has been in ketosis up to the early teen years. Basically, it takes many years of a high-carb diet to cause such metabolic harm that individuals fall out of ketosis.

@Kyarrix4 ай бұрын
Respectfully, why do you keep repeating the same questions? She made everything very clear. Nonetheless at the end of the video, you asked her again, "so you're saying don't eat grain and seed oils and carbohydrates? Are you sure?" Yes, we are sure. You do not need to eat any whole grains. You do not need to eat any carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are not a necessary macronutrient. The body makes, through the process of gluconeogenesis, the small amount that your brain needs. We function better on ketones. That doesn't mean everyone has to be in ketosis all the time but vegetables are not necessary. Grains are not necessary. They never have been. Whole grains are less damaging than refined grains but less damaging doesn't mean healthy or necessary. Why didn't you ask her where the dietary myths came from? Ancel Keys and his six countries and later seven countries study. There were really 22 countries but he ignored the data from most of the countries because it didn't fit his hypothesis. The Seventh-Day Adventist Church which is behind a lot of the nutritional guidelines. They believe that meat makes people lustful and that it shouldn't be eaten. Look at the state of our health since the advent of processed food, high carbohydrate diet and our current nutritional guidelines. We went from being primarily lean to 2/3 of us being diabetic or pre-diabetic. Alzheimer's is now also increasingly being referred to as type 3 diabetes, there was almost none of it 100 years ago. When we ate what we are biologically designed to eat we didn't have these problems. Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease didn't exist, now children present with it. We are fatter, sicker, even those of us who are not overweight are metabolically unhealthy. I wish you had asked her more of the right questions rather than repeating the same ones again. You hmphed at something she said as though it were out there or questionable. Why would you think that is appropriate? Then you asked her "where do you think this metabolic psychiatry thing will go?" Why are you being disparaging? She's brilliant, she's saving lives and improving lives and you have barely 9,000 subscribers and you're condescending in her direction? I would have subscribed but that last bit caused me not to. She gave you an interview, you should have treated her with significantly more respect.
