Lol there's a valid reason why I'm here today My father recently wanted his AC to have it fixed so he told me to hire a professional from the UrbanClap. Now I really didn't know what a window and split AC is up until this day, and unknowingly I hired a professional to repair window AC although we have split. My father gave me a good 15 minute lecture for being unaware of it 😂😂😂 Thank god no money had been wasted.. Thanks for the lucid explanation by the way.

@@evilanime8722 the guy in the video said the split ac consumes more but not enough to not buy one. You really think two motors is more efficient than one?
@troy55682 жыл бұрын
Split type may be only having one motor, but that one motor will be pushed really hard as it is doing the job of cooling a room all by itself, compared to the Window type wherein the task of cooling the room will be equally distributed to the two motors, and helping them run at their most optimal levels, which further prolongs their lifespan as well. Besides, the higher energy consumption is not really that much more compared to maintenance costs of Split type ACs. And now with the introduction of inverter type motor technology, the electricity consumption is almost negligible now, so you're just paying more for maintenance of Split type compared to Window type.

Does it really cool the room
@robertkubrick37385 ай бұрын
@@edmundamoah7611 Yes it does. I got a 1hp which was overkill for my application. In hindsight I should have gotten a 3/4 hp model for about 25% less running cost and it still would have been a fast cool for when I returned after leaving it off all day. Better yet, I would recommend 0.6 split type units that are very efficient and leave them on, never shut them off. I moved and a 1.0hp split type cools my entire house well enough cheaper than my old window unit and because I never shut it off, it took years for the condensation line to need service. It's much quieter too. Don't let an aircon man oversell you on a unit because they will try to sell you one that will cool enough to hang meat. 1hp cools my entire house and they wanted to sell me a 2.5hp!

All air conditioners have a dehumidification component. it is harder to cool a humid room so ACs all have dehumidification. How well it does this depends on the quality of the AC. It does not make a difference which type. Regular cleaning of pipes will make a difference.

I know this video is old, but with newer window AC like the Midea U shape there's almost no difference between a wall mount mini split and itself. Characteristics: Noise: (Midea can be quieter in some cases) Have the ability to use your windows: (Midea U design let's you open and close the window) Efficiency: Midea U uses inverter technology as well Cooling: (Midea can cool up to 12k BTU) ofc this is where the mini split still has an advantage as you can just upsize the units Aesthetic: the indoor unit for the Midea looks great. Security: options are included with the Midea U installation to permanently lock down your window. Included bracketry also eliminates the risk of the AC from falling out the window. Price: Windows, more specifically the Midea U is far cheaper and doesn't require you to pay for installation This video aged like milk

I'd say he's pretty biased towards split system. If your cooling bedrooms, the cost difference is huge, a mini split system cost multiple times a window unit. In the average bedroom a window unit blocks only a small amount of light. As for his "opening in wall for installation", he says a window unit "requires a bigger opening" WRONG. A window unit requires no opening in wall, you just open the window. Regarding security, he says "window is open and someone can remove air conditioner from outside and can enter house" WRONG AGAIN. As long as the AC unit is secured properly, there are way easier ways to "enter house". Conversely, I would disagree with him and make his point stronger by saying a window AC absolutely requires skill to secure it, seal it and not drop it on someones head in the process. And what he said about window units making more noise makes sense, but both split and window units have fans inside, but the split has the compressor noise outside. Thanks for posting. It made me think.
