NOTE TO EVERYONE. Never run anything in you gun that u can't repair on the field. Custom enhanced triggers, drop in triggers. All complete junk. Odd looking buffers, folding adopters and shit. WTF, why would you risk something like that breaking or failing and you gotta either disassembled whole system to replace it or wait 2 weeks or more to get it repaired or ordered. And that's if they even have the parts in stock. People are dumb. Keep things that proven and simple.

Did, I gotta pick your brain on ar10 buffer and spring... Recently built one and had my bcg smack my lower buffer threats and tube... No critical damage but I'm having a hard time finding trustworthy specs for spring length and such
@seanmtactical60694 жыл бұрын
The spring length probably isn't the problem. I suspect you are running an AR-10 carbine buffer in an A-5 or A-2 tube. I need to know what buffer, spring, buffer tube, bolt carrier group, and lower you have.

Are all buffer retaining pins supposed to be spring loaded
@seanmtactical60692 жыл бұрын
Yes, but some systems are meant to be ran without a retainer. The most common that doesn't use a retainer and spring is the JP silent captured system. We only build rifles for competition using this system. They are not reliable enough for any other use.

9” 300bo ar pistol i plan to run suppressed and unsuppressed. Subs and supersonics. What buffer system do you recommend?

carbine buffer tube with a carbine weighted buffer and a Tubb flat wire 300 Blk spring.

So I should be good with a basic carbine buffer/spring for a 20", rifle length gas system? I ordered a CMC mil spec buffer and a Magpul adjustable stock for my Colt Sporter Match Hbar. Hope it works
@seanmtactical60693 жыл бұрын
It should. The US Marines ran this set up for a bit, the M16-A4. I would use an H buffer at first though. If it's running slow, switch to a std carbine weight. If running fast go to an H2, but with a Colt barrel, the H buffer weighted carbine buffer should be the ticket.

I have a 20” AR-10 mid length gas system and a carbine buffer. Runs great but I want to use a rifle length buffer and tube. No one will give me a good starting point on which one to use. Any thoughts?
@seanmtactical60693 жыл бұрын
If you go to an A2 tube, you have one buffer that will fit, the 308 rifle length buffer. Now, if you are using the current PRS stock, you can use a carbine, A5, or A2 tube. In that case use the A5 tube and at least an H2 AR-15 buffer. In all of these cases, I prefer the Tubb 308 flat wire buffer spring.

I want to change my buffer spring for my m&p 15 sports II AR. However, which buffer spring should I change the stock one out with that would run more smoothly?
@seanmtactical60693 жыл бұрын
I would use either a Tubb flat wire or a SpringCo white carbine spring. I use the Tubb springs in my guns. I would go to an H buffer in the carbine 16" 556 gun.

I built an AR-10 upper chambered in 6.5 creedmoor with a 20" faxon rifle length gas system with nonadjustable block. I mounted it on my DPMS SASS G2 lower and used the BCG and buffer and spring that was installed but I'm getting a FTF on my follow up shoots. Any Ideas? I can cycle it buy using the charging handle and it ejects fine. Just thought it was wroth asking.
@seanmtactical60693 жыл бұрын
What type of buffer tube? What weight and size buffer? What buffer spring? We typically build Creedmoors and 308 Win AR-10s with rifle length gas systems, adjustable gas blocks, A-5 buffer tubes, Tubb 308 Flat spring, and H3 buffers. Adjustable gas blocks on AR-10s are sadly almost always required, especially with suppressor use.

Have 13.7 inch sons of liberty mid length barrel with NOX Pinned . Have the tubs AR Series flat wire buffer spring. If I buy the Vltor A5 tube which buffer should I get? I’ll be shooting mostly 62 grain green tips I will not be shooting suppressed. Question is Which A5 buffer to get. Other question I have a rifle and I have a carbine length Ace skeleton receiver extensions/stocks, if I use the ace stocks with the tubs flat wire spring in either one what should I do For buffers for either one of those scenarios thanks for your input. I’m just used to using ace stocks. But if I have to get a Vltor A5 extension I’ll do that if it’s worth it
@seanmtactical60694 жыл бұрын
I would try the H (1) buffer in either the carbine or A5 buffer with that barrel and a Tubb flatwire. SOLGW uses a 0.077" gas port in their 13.7" barrels. If you find your ejection pattern is forward of 3 o'clock, try an H2. I suspect the H is all you will need though.

I just traded my Maxim Defense brace with the shorty tube and it had a H2 buffer for a 7" Barrell and shooting 7.62x39....... I just changed the Brace from Maxim Defense for a SB Tactical SBM4 AR-15 Pistol Stabilizing Brace and a M4 Carbine tube (KAK) that came with an H1 buffer ...... Will it work like that with the H2 or do I have to play with it H1 buffer ?

Would you recommend running a carbine buffer h3 in a Ar308 rifle length instead of the rifle buffer tube and buffer?
@seanmtactical60693 жыл бұрын
Yes, but you have to use an A5 length tube to accommodate the 3/4" longer BCG. It's what we prefer on the AR-10 builds.

Recommendation for an 8.5in 300BLK build? I intend to run both suppressed subs and supers in it. Is there a buffer system that can do both? I'd like to be able to swap ammo in the field.
@seanmtactical60694 жыл бұрын
Standard carbine buffer tube, carbine buffer, Tubb 300 Blk flat wire spring. That's where I would start. There are a lot of variables, most impacting being the gas port size and the ammo used, but this seems to be the most flexible set up for that gun.

@seanmtactical60694 жыл бұрын
@@ecthelion1735 Pretty much. If you see it's running towards the faster side with sonics and you can get away with it, you can try a heavier buffer, but most 300 systems I've worked on have worked best with the above parts.

WOHA! Great vid! Thanks! Why is an A5 better in an AR10 than the original A2? (18” bbl, rifle gas)?
@seanmtactical60694 жыл бұрын
You can get a heavier buffer. The H3 is heavier than even the 308 A2 buffer. If you are using a full length stock, it's really close enough to not matte, but it's huge in a collapsable.
@GBCR4 жыл бұрын
@@seanmtactical6069 OK Thanks. I use A2 or similar stocks. AFAIK it is possible to add weight to the rifle buffer as well.
@seanmtactical60694 жыл бұрын
@@GBCR You can. They disassemble by taking the roll pin out of the back that holds the rubber bumper in place and then you can substitute a tungsten weight in for a steel weight. But you really shouldn't have to do that if you run an adjustable gas block.

@@seanmtactical6069 Thanks! You're the man, Sean! To clarify, I meant is there any tangible benefit to do so in an AR10 rifle buffer , 18" bbl with FL gas (12")? Any difference in the position/location of the heavier weight among the 3? THX IA
