Digimon is one of the Old monster training game that actually grow with their fans... unlike the other old franchise that make games more easy everytime they release new game

I love Cyber Sleuth. Yes, it has it's flaws, but as a Digimon and Megaten fan this game really hit me in all the right places. but I am a little bitter that I spend 133 hours on the game, cause I wanted to fill out the field guide, and the game gives you absolutely NO RECOGNITION for accomplishing this. Not even a stupid trophy, seeing as the last collector trophy is given when you have collected 200 Digimon.
@redranger8076 жыл бұрын
im interested in this game because of how much it feels like persona, though the battle animations aren't as cinematic as persona, it still feels like a fun dungeon crawler to go through.

ABI stat is actually dictated by how high a digimon is when you digivolve it. The higher the level of a digimon when you de-digivolve it, the bigger the stat increase.

the thing I admit I didn't like was for how story driven and character driven the game was I would've gotten into it a lot more had there been real cutscenes for dialogue and not the scrall of text. sometimes it was ok for short bits but when dialogue would go on for 5 minutes I would loose interest just wanting to go back to my digimon the stars so I'd rush through text just wanting it to end only to end up in the mall wondering wtfuck do I do now. and I agree not speaking made me ad a protagonist feel more background than I should.
@MajinLordVegeta6 жыл бұрын
deadpoolnerd I completely agree, the dialogue went on forever and after a while you just didn’t care and rush thru it. I want to replay both games but I won’t because of that.
@trickster3986 жыл бұрын
I had this game prior and was dead near the end until I had to sell my vita.. You could say it became a 'hackers memory' two years later I finally have a vita again. I'm having a really hard time downloading it , just remembering how profuse the dialogue is .. Game action is perfect but I would tediously have to go through all the text.. I may go through it again Edit: my younger self knew I would have a vita again sometime.. Somewhere. I stored my memory card in a small case and left it in my garage for a time. I even moved and there was a great change I could've lost it. I rummaged for my slick vita grip accessory (no lame blatant labels,just a sleek vita grip that complements the vita theme with triggers) and surely I found my grip. Something told me to keep rummaging in that particular box as I know myself to help myself for future references... Sure enough I was shocked I had my old memory card. My entire file was found! Moral of life story. Do what I have always done. Give yourself the chance to succeed.

It was a really great game but i really hope Namco doesn't be lazy again with the next game and offer us an english dub option. It makes no sense for smaller publishers like Nisa and Koei to be able to offer dual audio for their rpgs (Neptunia and Atelier series), but Namco can't be bothered. :(

The ABI stat is not random it’s based on your level and dedigivolving gives double what digivolving does, it’s a bit of a pain I do agree but it does serve a purpose of a few things such as digivolution and your training stats are limited by your ABI.
@demonic_myst45033 жыл бұрын
It apears random because it is impacted by like variables of five Stage + level devided by 5 so its not allways easy to predict

I enjoyed Cyber Sleuth and Hackers Memory however, I feel there are things they could work on to make the next games better. 1. Like Pokemon take us to other countries outside of Japan. I'd love to see not only US but Australia and Egypt and so much more. 2. To make the game more mature forgo the swearing and show that there are consequence for disputable actions. (I.e in Hackers Memory Ryuji should have been arrested or taken to a mental hospital but instead thanks to the world reset he got off the hook.) Show teens and adults that there are consequences for these things. More thoughts from other folks here that brought up some good points: @t 3. English/Spanish and other language dubbing. 4. More Digimon only 340 were in both Cyber Sleuth games for the Nintendo Switch version. If they can't put in all the Digimon they should have put at least halve in there I hear there's over 1000 or so. So not even 500 is disappointing. 5. More clothing options. Thought it was dumb to not have the Cyber Sleuth OC not able to were a Jacket like the character in Hackers Memory. 6. Copy and past dungeons and not enough background detail for the server dungeons. Kalwoon looked like it was ripped right out of Disneys Tron series as well so much blue. I'd give this game 8/10 would recommend some things of course need work.

For what it's worth now, I'd pick it up. It's not the best it could be, but isn't exactly terrible or unbearable either, but I wouldn't regret buying it. The game can feel rather slow but I managed to invest over 90 hours on my first playthrough, pretty much getting everything I wanted, and it's fairly easy with a little trick. To my surprise, the game was actually pretty enjoyable. Next order appeals more to fans of the original Digimon World game, so if you like that, get that too.

Zenix 29 I mean, maybe, but I would assume just the first time around. Did you play the game? How many attempts would it take you to win? When I've played hard games, It could take me 2 tries if I can't change my party (persona 5) or up to 8 if I have the wrong customizable team and I'm an idiot who doesn't want to keep grinding (SMT nocturne).
@thedeerking72207 жыл бұрын
Mngalahad My first play through I beat that boss on the first try, but on my new game plus on hard mode it took me like five tries because I was trying to get a trophy and had a lot of low level digimon in my party and my only strong ones were my first three. Even after I rectified that though I still lost my first three because that stupid sleep move.

@thedeerking72207 жыл бұрын
ShadyTrigger Or maybe you just find narratives driven by story boring. Nine times out of ten when something is boring to a person it's a problem with a persons preference rather than a problem with the actual product.
@thedeerking72207 жыл бұрын
Deso Awi Lark Again, all of that boils down to preference. What you call annoying I call a character quirk. What you call awkward I call realistic. Just because you don't like something doesn't make it a flaw. Also the game is driven by narrative. That's what "going" as you put it is. The narrative is split into chunks, aka the chapters, and a lot of it flows together. Like how they hint atlot of the stuff with the demons and Jimiken early by having a lot of female characters not shut up about him. Again it's all down to preference and this is my opinion and you can feel free to disagree with it. But you shouldn't present stuff you dislike personally as if they are fundamental flaws with the game itself.
@thedeerking72207 жыл бұрын
You claim im turning facts into opinions but your trying to do the opposite. The best quote for this is from yourmoviesucks and is as follows "what most people find spectacular i find average". That i why im saying this is your opinion rather than facts. Your holding this game to a different standard than i am. Somebody who expects every game to have a story like chronotrigger wouldnt like pokemon games stories. Somebody who wants everything spelled out for them in a story would love those same pokemon games but hate the hinted and barely told story of games like bloodborne. You obviously prefer stories with a more cohesive formulaic narrative as opposed to cyber sleuth's more scattered narrative. Its all about a person's preference. The art of storytelling has very few cardinal sins because it is such a subjective art form. As for the dialogue you have a point but not really. Yes the dialogue is not normal or realistic.... For Americans. You gotta remember this is a Japanese game translating Japanese dialogue with Japanese euphemisms, slang, onomatopoeia etc. This is very hard to translate into English accurately which can usually be blamed for alot of awkwardness in subtitles. Thats half of it. The rest can be attributed to character quirks. Arata's bluntness, Niko's tendency to go off topic and be loud, Kyoko and her tendency to go off on tangents about folklore and legends. This makes characters just that, characters. You may call unrealistic and awkward but i call i a cultural difference. I understand that this game has flaws. The Abi stat has no real purpose other than to pad out gameplay, The element and type system can be easily abused to maek fight ridiculously easy, the evoloution paths can have ridiculous requirements for certain digimon that again pad out run time etc . However notice that all the flaws are gameplay, something that does have clearly laid out cardinal sins and problems. I am not beyond reason because i understand that not all stories are driven the same way. I would agree that this story was a leaf in the wind if it didnt have connections between its elements. To go back to my earlier example of Jimiken. if he had just come out of nowhere that first time you fight him and the characters said "oh yeah this is a super rockstar that is super famous" then the story would be a leaf in the wind with no driving force, but that isn't what happened. Alot of characters talk about jimiken before he evr shows up so you understand the importance when he does. Another example is the building Kamishiro conspiracy with building blocks between the hospital, your first meeting with suedo, The jimiken incident, your first entrance into the nakano underground, all to build the idea that kamishiro has some great plan before we even find out about paradise lost. Now i will admit its not perfect there are certain elements that just are as you describe them. Anytime Nokia's digimon digivolve for no good reason, Fei's weird obssesion with Yuuko, over half the sidequests that try to tie into the story but really dont, Mirei's weird hacker sidequests. However i dotn feel these are enough to write the whole story off as undriven. Again this all circles back to what standard you decide to who the story to. this isn't chronotrigger or final fantasy 7 but when compared fairly to other digimon stories or stoies that try to do similiar i feel it is a par story dare i say a great story. You are fre to have your opnion that you persoanlly based on your scale feel that it is undriven but i say again that it's a opnion and story telling has very few cardinal sins because everybody likes something different from a story.
@thedeerking72207 жыл бұрын
Deso Awi Lark And that's how I know you have no arguments. No addressing of any of my points or any opposition just "you beyond reason, I don't know why I tried" how can I be beyond reason if you never even try to oppose me? Is it really so hard to either A. Admit you were wrong or B. Admit that other people may have different view points and what you say isn't gospel?
