It was designed to land on aircraft carriers. You may think it's a hard landing but it's probably not. F-4s didn't flare (well, maybe the E model a TINY bit with the LE slats)...your pitch/AOA/on-speed is set on approach and 'kept' there...throttle adjustments literally don't affect the AOA...only the stick. And you keep this configuration right to touchdown. Use the throttle to move your touchdown mark forward/back. Just be careful pulling the throttles back ---the real jet started to fall real quick! But the 79s had excellent 'instant' throttle response.

@@jaysonpida5379 thanks for the input. In my earlier tries I was ending up with slightly bent landing gears so I thought I was coming in too fast. I’ll keep on practicing. The community comments are very helpful.

I have no experience in this aircraft but that was rough, try to accelerate before touchdown to smooth the landing.

@@0Ignition0 still practicing. Thanks for the input. I’ll try it next time.

@@bukhariali71 I'm sure its not easy. But you can smooth the landings in all aircraft briefly adding power 2-3 seconds before touchdown. It's just a touch to the throttle.

@@RaspySquares 🤣. I agree that it was pretty atrocious. I’m Still practicing so hopefully it gets better.
