I am 65 now. I will be 66 September 14th. If I happen to live that long. Because every day is a gift now. I started crying the other day when I thought about my age because I had absolutely no idea that I would live this long. Especially when I consider the life that I led, for 30 years. Like so many men of my generation, regardless, if they became wealthy or not, so many of them became either drug addicts or alcoholics. And all you have to do to know this is look around you. And also look at the leading musicians of my generation. The vast majority of them that are still alive, are no longer doing drugs or drinking… Because, they would be dead like so many, of our generation. And all anyone has to do to know this, is simply start doing some googling. Of well-known musicians from the baby boom generation, that are dead. So many of us not only sober up or cleaned up, and we became Christians because there’s nowhere else to go. No place else to go and thank God for that. When I think of all the years that I drank so hard, and the disease that I got from it, in my feet, it truly is a miracle that I am still alive. When I was supposed to be dead 💀, ABSOLUTELY- DEAD ☠️ , 3 different times. 3 Different times. Oh thank you Lord that I am still alive because you keep me alive because without you, I would have been dead absolutely did my last time drinking. My last time.

I remember growing up and how MTV and VH1 were very frowned upon in my family so I could only watch it in small intervals or depending on who was home at the time. My Aunt lived in the same household and randomly when I had the tv remote I was on VH1 and this video came on; she came in dancing the moves. I never saw my Aunt light up like that before. She absolutely adored Robert Palmer. She recently passed away this week and rewatching these bring back some amazing memories and how much she got down and loved listening to Palmer.

@Rios Salvajes How... how does that even work? Did I unsee hundreds of (way better than this) videos from the 80's when the music video was raised approaching a respected artform? Did I unsee opulent effects of Peter Gabriel's Sledgehammer or Steam? Did I unsee the iconic scenes of Michael Jackson's Bad or Thriller? Did I unsee the provocative and artful imagery of Slave to the Rhythm by Grace Jones, the raw quirkiness of David Byrne's Once in a Lifetime or the playful animation of A-Ha's Take on Me? Did my eyes somehow shoot these excellent images out of my brain, back into the screens of computers and televisions four decades past?
