Can I just say, I have never seen a woman in this family speak so strongly, confidently, and openly and I am so proud to see how much you have grown since your days on 19KAC.
@TexasbyStorm4 жыл бұрын
I agree. When Jinger was single she seemed much more outspoken. Now Jeremy speaks for her over and over. She has one line basic answers and he goes into depth for her. He seems to domineer their relationship. I'm certain he loves her and she loves him, but their dynamic isn't nearly as comfortable, at least on screen, as Jill and Derrick seem or even Jessa and Ben seem. I hope as time goes by that changes. She has lived away from the family her entire marriage and it seems their relationship is much more authoritarian. Maybe that's just for the show though and they are trying to portray Jinger as Mama Duggar take 2. I do love the dynamic of Jill and Derrick though. They have found a way to be a light to the world and not hiding that light under self righteous works that makes them a spectacle that distracts from the message of the cross.
@lauraryan74604 жыл бұрын
@Eden Grey nah man, Jessa is way too deep in the look aid to actually speak truly openly and honestly. Just the fact that Jill can criticize her parents shows that she has grown tremendously. She still has a long way to go but she is leaps and bounds more mature and more honest than Jessa

@jen4him724 жыл бұрын
I don't see her disagreeing at all. I see her adding her two cents. There is a difference. Also, for people in a Christian marriage, it is biblical to submit to our husbands. Not everything that God asks us to do is easy, but His plan & His way is always perfect. I have recently begun to follow a teaching about biblical submission for wives, it has changed my life and my marriage for the better. Knowing that I am following God's will is priceless. More so than human accolades or respect. Knowing I'm pleasing my God means everything. And if Michelle Duggar lives that same way, who are we to judge? If you don't agree with how a person lives, it's fortunate you don't have to live their life. 😉

Just popping in to say how proud I am of both of you!! Please know you are seen, heard and acknowledged. You have handled yourselves with such maturity and grace. When I saw Darrick sitting with Anna thus week and conversing with her, it was the first time I saw someone do what Jesus would do in a very, very long time. Please know it did not go unnoticed. Much love to your beautiful family. ❤

I love that you guys acknowledge that that you’re not yet entirely sure of how you would handle your children dating. The integrity in the initial statement regarding crossing that bridge when you get there tells me that you guys have your heads on straight and lead with love. Having experienced turmoil with the way my own father handled me dating for the first time in my senior year of high school, I will say that the most important thing you can give your children is a judgement free space so that they can feel comfortable coming to you about things. I definitely did not feel that with my Dad (raised by a single dad) as he could be overbearing at times. But I did appreciate my Aunt who took me on a drive to tell me that certain “urges” were natural and if I needed anything like birth control or advice I could come to her. I think she understood that I was 17 and needed to be prepared for adulthood. That talk alone opened the door to me realizing that I could make my own decisions and helped me to understand the responsibility behind them all in the same token. I guess y’all’s conversation really resonated with me. ❤️

I am loving watching these. (1) I so appreciate your honesty and candor (2) For anyone that doubts your love - I can see that it is very genuine. Sorry you are having issues with Jill's parent - but you are 100% doing the right thing by standing by and up for each other. But here is my question - I am sure your kids do not know the conflict with Jill's family but what is their relationship with their grandparents like now? Do they ask about them? DO they have any interaction with their cousins?

This was such an interesting conversation to watch the two of you have. I really like that you know if you aren't approachable to your kids when they are getting to the dating stage, they won't approach you when they are dating. I have really enjoyed all your Q & A sessions. I think Derick has gotten a lot of bad press about your narrow views of the world, so it is fun to see him reacting with you, listening to you and conversing with you. Jill you have a strong sense of right and wrong, sometimes very different from people more in the mainstream, but I appreciate you sharing your thoughts.

Good for you for not overloading your kids with vaccinations. My Mom said I got SCARY sick when they overloaded me with vaccines. My little sister too. And one of my sister’s friends had a seizure so bad she ended up so bad after the same vaccines she ended up with severe cerebral palsy. I got away with a grand mal seizure and with mild cognitive problems that I struggle with to this day. I was fortunate.

The growth I have seen....it is just amazing. To sort of break away from.the very specific things that were ingrained into you for your entire existence....can be so difficult. I experienced a LOT of the same things. I COMPLETELY agree that the relationship/friendship you have with your children is sooooo important. My 3 children know they can come to me with ANYTHING....even if it will disappoint me. They know I am the very safest place... The rigid rules and expectations and lack of relationship with my mom, unfortunately for myself and my brothers, resulted in us rebelling....making choices we all regret. Keep evolving. Keep learning. You guys have come sooooo far and are just...doing a beautiful job....❤

I was raised very differently than the two of you, but I did have parents who always said I could always make them the bad guy for anything which I think is super important and I’m glad you guys seem to feel the same way. It can be hard for young people to stand up on their own especially when they have peers pressuring them against what they believe. The ability to say, “My parents said no” definitely came in handy, even when my parents weren’t actually involved in the decision.
