I can't see myself wanting to date or have sex with a man just as much as I can't see myself intentionally killing another human being. Also, I identify as a Christian. it doesn't sound like you have any LGBTQ friends. you can't disagree on who someone is as a person because ultimately that implies that you think sexuality is a choice. Ya I’m a Christian and I would never tell a gay person they have a choice. I do believe homosexuality is a sin in same way heterosexual sin is sin along with all the other sins Christians commit daily! It’s certainly not a greater sin and I dnt believe it’s a choice but I do Believe it’s something someone can be delivered from jsut bc I’ve met so many ppl in body of Christ that’s happened to. But there are plenty of gay ppl in the body of Christ that I love and would never judge bc I’m a sinner just like everyone else. We are to love our neighbor as ourselves

@@amandacarmel6084 wouldn’t you tell a murderer they have a choice to not murder? Or say, you were born that way, you can’t help it so keep doing it. Which to that I’d say, yes they were born that way, a sinner. We all have desires that are sinful but we don’t have to be slave to it. We are to take up our cross and deny ourselves our sinful desires. There is freedom in the cross. Jesus came to free us of our sin, not to free us to keep sinning. And if you know someone who is a brother or sister in Christ and you see them sinning, God absolutely calls us to gently and privately call them out on it, out of love. Sin hurts us and others, so why not say something. I struggle with this too and people pleasing, but we need to lean on God for strength.

Kind of like how everyone acts like they don’t like the Duggar’s and judge them just because of their beliefs? Does that mean that if someone doesn’t think like you or act like you, then you hate and don’t want them too? Really think about what you’re implying about them when you yourself don’t actually know that they feel that way. It’s hypocritical to say “if you don’t think like me, you’re a bigot” and then judge them for supposedly doing the same 😅

You have to take some things with a grain of salt. Derrick has said some pretty transphobic things in the past and I don't recall him acknowledge that or apologizjng but I also stopped following the duggers around the Josh incident. I mostly came to this channel because I see the way Jill is being treated and I can't even fathom it. When I reported my sexual abuse my family was behind me 100% (it wasn't family who did it). I can't imagine speaking my truth and being met with what Jill is. I give her props for being so strong and brave. I do question the LGBTQIA stuff but I also know people that grew up in pretty conservative Christian households who believed everything they were taught about the LGBTQIA community etc and they're still learning, growing and changing and breaking away from that. When your raised in a religion that ingraines so much hate and it's enforced by everyone around you, it is hard to break away from. Some people are fortunate and do and some never do. I'll hold judgment and keep hoping for the best for Jill and her family in regards to the way she is being treated for being honest and open. All of this confirms my reasons for completely disengaging from most Dugger related stuff around Josh... I knew at least one of the girls was being forced in front of the media. There'd be no way I could have done it if my abuse had been made so public. 🤷‍♀️

If you are a bible believing Christian, then the answer is right there to read and live by. To believe in God is a choice. If you live that life then you believe all that is written, it isn't a difficult concept. What they mean by a choice to be gay or whatever letter you want to assign to alternative lifestyles, is that its a fight that can be won and has to be won if you believe what the Lord wants for us. It's hard to stay on the Christian walk, it isn't easy by any stretch, but it's worth it! Being gay is just another fight that you must fight to not participate in. Period! You are incorrect, big Mac. Even on the insert paperwork on birth control pills it warns that that kind of birth control is abortifacient. This means that this birth control can cause a fertilized egg to not implant. This is called an abortion. Just because it’s not done at Planned Parenthood at six months gestation doesn’t make it any more an abortion, it’s just a spontaneous one. So yes, they do cause abortions. The most egregious one is an IUD. The idea behind an IUD is to cause the uterus to be a hostile environment, whereby a fertilized egg cannot implant, and it is shed. So a woman could literally be expelling her baby and it’s most infantile stage into the toilet every month.

My only issue with this video is that birth control doesn't "accidently" cause abortions. The term would be miscarriage and I don't believe birth control directly causes that if it does it's got to be extremely rare. I've been on hormonal birth control for 5 years with no issues, but I can't speak about anyone else's experience. Other than that good for Jill and Derek! She's definitely my favorite one in the direct family now because she's expanding her mind and being her own person.

Birth control does not cause miscarriages... they don’t work that way. What birth control does is that it makes the cervix develop a thick mucus lining to prevent sperm from entering uterus. A birth control pill is completely different from an abortion pill which causes cramping and bleeding to empty uterus. There are suggested links but not necessarily true and with a simple research can help educate people about it... but I am also very glad Jill and Derek are doing well :)

I loved yalls stance on LGBT and friendships with disagreements! I'm LGBT myself and it annoys me when people on either side like you said want to preach at you or belittle you or try over and over to force you to agree when you simply don't see eye to eye. It sometimes feels more like the person is building themselves up instead of having genuine conversation. I love talking to people with all different perspectives so I can learn and grow when we have a genuine connection! And I've always thought if someone is strong in their faith they wouldn't have to try to convince everyone around them all the time in order to even hang out. Anyway its REALLY encouraging to see people who think like you guys do knowing how and caring enough to be respectful and pointing out that either side of any issue can have a tendancy to get heated and there's no need for that. I asked my brother over the holidays if he could simply refrain from talking to me about his opinions about my lifestyle and religion for the couple days I was visiting as well as use my new name that I've changed years ago (I said he could use whatever pronouns) and it was really confusing to me that he said I was being unreasonable and acted like I was asking him not to share his faith in God...which I wasn't I'm very interested in Jesus and learning from people's faith but in the end he said as a Christian he couldn't do that and it was very disheartening since the reason I asked him is it's connected to some traumas for me and I'd rather focus on healing his and my relationship then talking about that but anyway it's lovely to see people with his similar beliefs who think it's totally reasonable to have respectful and kind conversations. :)

You both talked about the LGBTQ+ community in a pretty respectful way, and I respect that. It sounds genuine when you speak about us like that. I also want to add that as a former Christian (charismatic), I don’t believe that the Bible fully explains the modern applications of the verses that are “against” the identities of LGBTQ folks. it’s not as much about “disagreeing” with a person’s “lifestyle”, as it is about honoring who they are as a person- if you believe that God doesn’t make mistakes, that he made us in his image, and (especially) if you follow Calvinistic beliefs and everything is preordained, then your beliefs would actually support the development of different, non-heteronormative and non-cisgendered identities. There are plenty of other cultures that have more than two genders and sexualities. Letting a person know that you disagree with a part of them, presumably a large part of their lives because it is something that directly affects their relationships and families, can put a huge rift in between you and the friend who is LGTBQ. Of course, it varies from person to person. I’m not suggesting that you abandon your beliefs, I’m only suggesting that acceptance is the most Jesus-like action one could take. Agreement and acceptance are two different things for this. I think it would mean a lot for a person to know that you accept them for who they say they are, and it would likely bring you closer. Again, I respect how gently you’re going about this!
@foolcatcher8900
@foolcatcher8900 4 жыл бұрын
I have a couple things in response to that. 1. There is no such thing as a former Christian. You’re either sealed by the Holy Spirit or you are not. 2. The Bible and its word are the same yesterday, today, and forever. There is no modern, or traditional, or ancient version. It is all applicable at every point in history, and for every person regardless of time. It doesn’t have a modern take. What God has said applies to every generation. 3. Who you are is a person created in the image of God. Your sexual desires are not who you are. You completely misunderstand the idea that God does not make mistakes. He made you to worship and surrender to him. If you have chosen not to do that, it is YOU who has made the mistake, not God. 4. No, there are not other countries who have more than two genders. There is only male and female. Anything other than that is a deviation from nature and from God‘s plan. 5. No, excepting sin is not the most Christlike thing one can do. The most Christlike thing one can do is to tell them about repentance, the gospel, forgiveness, and how they can be changed from the inside out. We are not to except people based on who they SAY they are. A person can SAY they’re a turnip. We are to except them as creations of the creator. And that is completely different than excepting their sin, which we are not to do.

Are you aware that more than likely out of 19 siblings you probably have at least 3 to 5 siblings that are more than likely identify as LGBTQ whether they're out or not is doubtful. What would you do if your child came out to to that they were homosexual or transgender? Please tell me you'd love them 100% unconditionally and not put them in the abusive conversion therapy

Great point, I’d love to hear their answers too! I think Derek has less nice opinions about it though.. unfortunately..

this comment!! there is NO way everyone in this family is cisgender & heterosexual and just suppressing themselves due to their scary religious family.

It happened to my bf aunt, she was all bible everything and against gays and lord and behold, her only daughter and she marries a woman lol. Got nothing else to say. Above all we are in this earth to help each other until our next stop and being kind, humble, caring, etc. is above any religion.

If travel is important, don't put it off, taking time for an occasional trip. We kept putting it off due to family and work demands, and my husband passed away suddenly far too young. Biggest regret is we didn't take time for a few couple and family trips. You always think you have more time.

How do you guys feel about progressive clergy? I’m not as religious as you guys, however the god and Jesus I choose to believe in is one who loves everyone no matter what, including who they choose to love. Progressive clergy preaches that and I find it interesting when comparing people who have the same beliefs as you when it comes to the LGBTQ+ community.

Love seeing you guys grow and progress and be so happy. Just to let you know though, birth control (hormonal or non hormonal) cant cause an abortion, it's not possible.

Ikr! It's just unfortunate to have a miscarriage and 99.9% it's just something ur could handle. The small percent is due to drugs & alcohol like my niece :/ she passed at 24 weeks

I got married with a little bit of wedding debt but we paid it off quickly. Honestly being in debt strains a marriage. I am glad you went to school debt free.
