Welcome to the world of Dimash! He just turned 27 a few weeks ago and he's been training since the age of 5. He has at least 6 octaves and 10 semitones (highest note is D8, which is one key off the piano). He studied classical and contemporary, has a masters in composing and is working on his PhD. His idols are Celine Dion, Andrea Bocelli, Michael Jackson. He likes to practice taekwondo, soccer, and swimming (to work on his breath control). While his range is impressive, his voice is what sets him apart from the rest of the pack. What I mean is, his voice is so rich and layered/textured, it's like he has multiple people inside him when he sings. Dimash has said he's not sure exactly what his range is. For him his voice is a tool he uses to convey the story and emotion of a song. He was offered a position at the Astana Opera House, but turned them down to follow his own path. He's incredibly versatile and is more neoclassical crossover (if you have to give him a genre that's the best way to put it). He loves his country and his family. He's also a very humble young man and philanthropic. This song comes from the famous Canadian-French rock opera 'Starmania' 1978, well known in French-speaking countries) and is one of the most difficult songs to sing and made Dimash a mega-star overnight. In 2017 Dimash received a wild-card for the competition “The Singer” in China. He was the youngest participant of all time (22 years) and the first non-Chinese. That wasn't his whistle tone, it was fully connected soprano head voice. He sings in ALL the octaves. He rarely uses his whistle but when he does you will know 😁 his surname is pronounced Koo Die Bergen with a hard G. If his name is spelled properly as Qudaibergen it's still pronounced the same.
