I was privileged to fly from the Philippines to watch his concert last Saturday at Kuala Lumpur. The experience was surreal. His voice is so powerful and rich. Totally better than what we hear from his videos ❤.

He can sing in a lot of different styles too--opera to rap. He does occasionally sing a raspy rock scream, but not very often--I think he is careful to preserve his voice for some of his other styles. Though I've heard his technique is so good that he screams, etc in a healthy way.

Yeah ! This is Kazakhstan, and sure Dimash is unique. But in Asian, and Russia, there are only prodigies, especially since ten years, little kids, real typical singers with endemic languages and culture. No one in western countries can grow and perform like that.

He hasn't done metal yet. It would be incredible. 🤞 Although, you've got a little taste of his rock voice in Omir. As you probably remember at one point he added a pretty amazing distorsion to his voice. 🙂 If you feel prepared please react to The Story of One Sky which is not just a song but a mini-movie. The point is not really his voice - wich is incredible as always, but the message of the MV about a better, peaceful world. ❤‍🩹 Near the ending you will hear him screaming in desperate and yet in hope. If you ask me, that's metal. 🤘 I'm looking forward to seeing your reaction to that masterpiece he'd been working on for 3 years. Great reaction. ❤ I believe Stranger is an excellent epic song which also showcases many of the vocal tools in his very large musical toolbox. I love how he "plays the vocal roles" for men, women and children fleeing to a Strange land in the middle of the song but my favorite part is the charge out of the fire with pure male operatic power. The 20 second sustained note is the cherry on top for one of my favorite performances by Dimash. Also notice how quickly he jumps up to shout out the pianist/composer Igor, not even out of breath.🎶💐💜💐🎶 I am a big fan of many of his culturally unique Folk songs, like Samaltau, Marigold, I'll Die for the Wind of the Mountain, and the Folk/Rock Durdaraz/ Almaty. 🥰 Hugs from a Canadian Dear🇨🇦

At the beginning sounds an old Turkic stringed instrument called Kobys. It is probably the oldest bowed stringed instrument in the world and it spread to became the prototype of all European string instruments as violin an chello. That and the use of the fa minor key in the composition gives the vibe of Middle East /oriental/ exotic sound. Think he´s singing to migrants in general: "New ground far as I can see, new ground underneath my feet, Stranger in a stranger land, new chance to see who I am if I have the strength to begin again"

He is so awesome, isn’t he? Stranger is one of my absolute favorite songs. I get goosebumps every time I hear it. I’m a real fan of movies that have such a mystical or oriental atmosphere. And it was such a great idea by Dimash to use the Kobysz for that. The kobyz is a very old two stringed Kazakh folk instrument and it’s wide spread among Kazakhs. The man who often is playing the kobyz in Dimash’s performance (also here in Stranger) is the best on this instrument and a good friend of Dimash. His name is Olzhas Qurmanbek. You often can hear this instrument when Dimash sings in his native tongue like Samaltau, Qairan Elim or Òmir Òter. He sang Stranger for the first time at New Wave in Sochi, Russia in 2021. This is an international competition for young artists, founded in 2002 by Igor Krutoy. Dimash sang here as a guest and was also a member of the jury. Igor Krutoy, like so many other masterpieces, wrote this song specifically for Dimash and his incredible vocal range (in this song alone he sings 5 octaves F1-F6 I think). And the last note he held for 20 seconds. The way he switchs so affortlessly between the different registers and octaves in one song is so mesmerizing and unbelievable. Igor Krutoy is a famous Russian-Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter. He came out of retirement specifically to work with Dimash when he first heard him. True masterpieces were created. He writes songs that only Dimash could sing with his vocal range (no kidding), like Olimpico, Stranger or Ave Maria. You'll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. If Igor Krutoy is there, the song was also written by him. The two have no contract. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. It's more of a father-son relationship. Please react next to Olimpico from his Arnau concert in 2019. In this song he sings in Italian. You can find it on Igor Krutoy‘s Channel. Olimpico is another masterpiece that Igor Krutoy wrote especially for Dimash’s vocal skills. It was written for the 2nd European Games in Minsk, Belarus 2019. And that’s why the lyrics are also very motivating. This song and this performance from this Arnau concert is my absolute favourite🥰 I think this version is the best, because his performance is so intense and breathtaking. The light show, the background dancers. Everything. With this song in this version I always get breathlessness. The way he represents himself on stage, the hand movements. I think he has incredibly beautiful hands🤭(and apparently many cameramen think so too, since many of the camera shots during his performances very often only show his hands. Sometimes it seems as if he is conducting himself. This is really fascinating). And the facial expression, the look. There he looks so commanding😱. In my opinion, this version of Olimpico is one of the most impressive performances ever. If you don't know what the song is about, you'd think he was going to war😅.! It’s absolutely stunning. And I don't even mean the vocal part, but also his stage presence. The whole package. Oh wow I’m starting to rave again…🤤 Sorry but I can’t help it🥺. He could do heavy metal because he has some heavy metal screams and growls in his song The Story of One Sky. He also has a couple of songs with a good rock vibe - Durduraz and Kieli Meken. He has a variety of good pop tunes and has rapped in a couple of his songs. He has covered Lara Fabian, Céline Dion, Eric Carmen, Queen, MJ, and has done some movie soundtracks (Endless Dimensions, Battle of Memories and Power rangers). He sings in multiple languages and multiple genres (often in the same song). Enjoy the rabbit hole. There’s still lots to see and hear. A Dear from 🇨🇦

Great reaction. Dimash has so many great performances showing lots of styles, so it’s hard to pick. Ogni Pietra (from the Arnau tour or the digital show)is usually in the first few choices. Durduraz is a folk song but dimash really rocks it out (from his Almaty concert). Back in 2017, he sang a Queen cover The Show Must Go On (a bit of a scream in that one). Keep going with Dimash.

That`s exactly why he is the best: he can do everything. In every range, every dynamics, the emotion he brings, the showmanship, the musicality, in every language he sings in. He can be fragile and then put a ton of force in every level from f1 to d8. I don`t know any other singer that can do all that. He can sing in every genre there is and mix them in one song, never loosing any of the highest of quality through out the song. He is simply the best that ever was. Yes, there are many many amazing vocalists in the world, but non of them can do everything. Only Dimash can.

Dimash has been classically-trained since the age of five. He is not a singer. Dimash is simply the greatest vocalist and musical technician I have ever heard in my 81+ years on this planet. He is a marvelous performer, a pitch-perfect perfectionist and a truly humble young man. His 7 0ctave + 2 semi-tones range (C1 to D8, sustained) reminds me so much a another wonderful vocalist, a lady by the name of Yma Sumac, from the 1940s and '50s. From time to time God makes a special treat for the rest of this world to enjoy. I'm so glad that I have lived long enough to witness both of these treasures. btw: Really fine reaction. Stranger is an epic song with touches of medieval, Gregorian and even a march together. Kobyz is an ancient tool of the Kazakh people. It was used in ancient times by steppe shamans-healers for various rites. Kobyzy is made from a single piece of wood. This is one of the oldest ways of making musical instruments in the history of mankind. It is not due to technical backwardness or the lack of metal devices. According to the ancient beliefs of many people, only in a single piece will the living singing soul of the tree remain, which will sound in the instrument. The open body and strings of the kobyz from a bunch of 30-60 untwisted horse hair give a very thick, overtone-rich timbre. 🔝🔝

Dimash is a master at dropping to his knees and holding notes, that last one was 20 seconds but he can do for longer. Dimash is the best singer ever. Dimash Kudaibergen is a God of singing, the absolute voice. I transcribed and translated one of his well known songs and sing it in his footsteps ... What an inventive music score, always so clever, even in a classical frame. Kazakhstan makes prodigies ... Also Daneliya Tuleshova ... since her ten years old. A Goddess ! This is typically the wedding of Russian and Asian soul, and Kazakh people are unique in that way. Their language is a pure blessing, as in many ancient soviet republics. ( Though Dimash often sings in russian) ...Tatar also, is on my opinion a summit, search for ... complex to translate.

There are many good singers, and to like someone he doesn’t need 6octave range, but Dimash has really reach vocal toolbox and besides he has that energy when he sings that spreads like beautiful magic. That jump on his knees… he practiced it many times when he was younger😂, so much that Chinese dear bought him a knee pads, but you could never hear it in his voice. I remember that on The Singer 2017 competition there was few knee jumps 🤷‍♀️

@10:08, He's done some Queen songs as Freddie Mercury (Queen), and MJ were two of his idols growing up. He did "Show Must Go On" at the Singer Competition Show in China and at the time he hardly knew but a few words in English and killed it!🎉🎉🎉 The other's he came as a guest to sing with other people and a group...but they're all great!
