@@JaxonianDante damn, most I ever walked in one go was 16 miles. I did about 200 dollars out of it. I was broke and without a car at the time and FEMA was giving out EBT cards because a hurricane had hit our area. I got a friend to drop me off at the fair grounds, but it was a long wait and he had somewhere to be. So I had to walk home. Just walking back took half of the day ... about 12 to 6 ... but that was way more per hour than I was making at the time.

Walking 50 miles in a day is possible, but it is very hard. My group composed of another 5 17-18 year olds completed it in 15 hours 57 minutes at an average of 3.4 mph and burned roughly 5400 calories l. We started in the afternoon, continued through the night and finished in the morning of the next day. Our time was above average because we are all realtively fit ( 2 swimmers 1 rower 2 tennis and 1 footballer) but the quickest ones (xcountry team) did it in less than 14 hours. This was hands down the biggest attempt to break my willpower that I have ever faced and I can relate to all of Murph's reactions which makes this video much funnier.

This reminds me of one time I thought it would be a good idea to use google maps to walk to the beach. Basically, it started raining... and I ended up at the end of some dark alleyway. I found out pretty soon that the alleyway lead to a dark tunnel... with a load of guys on motorbikes waiting inside, and another guy in a hood walking away and towards me. So, yeah, that was the time google maps almost got me stabbed. Or mugged. Or shot. Or murdered. Probably. Needless to say, I didn't wait to find out which.

This came at such crazy timing. I walked 8 miles back home from work a few weeks ago because my bike broke down, I didn't have money for an Uber or a bus ticket, so I just walked. I was walking and was offered a ride by a co-worker but turned it down both out of pride/ego and it was just kind of exciting to push myself. It took almost exactly 2 hours and 15 minutes to get home. After the 5 mile mark I could start feeling the discomfort and when I got home and could "relax," that's when it really kicked in. My calves and lower legs were extremely sore, the back of my heels were rough and my feet and toes kept cramping up. For the next 5-7 days I was sore. It definitely was not worth it and should've accepted that ride but it did motivate me to get into better shape and start jogging again. The worst part of it wasn't even necessarily the discomfort itself but rather the boredom. I kept switching between music, podcasts, KZbin videos and audiobooks and because you're walking, time feels like it's going slower than what it should. It also got decently cold, it went from 71F to 51F and I definitely did not have the clothing for it so a part of me was hot while other parts of me like my head were cold. I'm glad Murph didn't walk 50 miles straight but even still, 15 miles at a time is a lot, especially day after day. I can only imagine how he truly felt at the end of it. All because of a rock paper scissors game and to make content lol
