Did anyone else feel like the role of Chris Evans was originally for Ryan Reynolds? His character has that whole "horrible person who's only liked because a hot actor plays him" vibe that Ryan loves to played

Dwayne "The Brand" Johnson must be so happy wrestling is doing well so he has something to fall back on to give him legitimacy.
@comfyghost13 күн бұрын
well about that… i'm not a wrestling fan myself, but apparently he's been trying to get back into pro wrestling, and apparently the people who are wrestling fans really hate it. wrestling fans hate him forcing his way back into the wwe, animation fans hate moana 2 being forced into cinemas and that he's funding a live action moana remake, and the general consumer hates how all his movies have been boring at best. he unironically has nothing to fall back on. he has lost all legitimacy.
@koernerkomedy13 күн бұрын
@comfyghost well, yes and no. When he came back people hated him because he used his power on the board to immediately insert himself into the main storyline that'd been running for over a year, but then he turned heel so people hated him for the exact same reasons, but in a way they were supposed to. It's...complicated.
@sev11207 күн бұрын

11:20 even if the rest of this movie sounds like total The Rock slop, the idea of the real Santa moving from random mall to random mall is hilarious and also really cute in a slightly ridiculous way. I love it, beautiful.

I hope this doesn't get brought up in this video later but Red One features a scene where The Rock jumps from a building and lands safely on the ground, unironically doing his bit from The Other Guys.

my art club actually had a guest speaker a few weeks ago who is a costume maker who worked on this movie, she helped make some of the jackets for the ELF characters and the monster costumes, which were some of her favorites to work on. it was a bit awkward when she asked if any of us had seen it and no one had really heard about it lol

@voidaspects917313 күн бұрын
Honestly, what I find interesting about this movie was just how much my perception of it was influenced by what it felt like it was trying to be. By that I mean, like... I think deeply unhinged and wildly out there movies have a lot of artistic merit, and I love seeing them get made. But the celebrity cast and the market appeal and the overproduced nature of it all just diminishes all of that into just feeling like... some dumb movie. If this was a cast of no names, and made by directors and writers who just wanted to make something fun and dumb, I'd probably be defending the merits of this movie so hard, even if the script was virtually unchanged in that scenario. But contextually... I feel nothing! This might be a weird pull, but my reaction to it is honestly pretty similar to that bloodshot movie from a few years back. I love adaptations of more obscure works, I love unrestrained edginess in my action movies, I should've been the target demographic for that movie. But I just saw Vin Diesel in every damn piece of promotion and any enthusiasm for it eroded. My reaction was just "oh, its one of those movies." ...that might be a bit of a tangent, but it comes to mind because thats the movie that made me realize that celebrities are actually a deterrent for me in movie promotion. So it really comes to mind here.

24:40 In defense of making fun of essential oils, a lot of people use them as alternative medicine which can be dangerous if they do it instead of seeking actual medical treatment... Wikipedia tells me they can also be dangerous if used improperly especially to kids, some are toxic and some cause allergic reactions, which I think is relevant here cause a lot of those White Women are moms who, like most people, don't read instructions. Essential oils aren't even that popular here and I still remember years ago a sick friend complaining that her mom tried curing with oils and aromatherapy instead of going to a pharmacy... IMO that deserves to be mocked and isn't on the same level as actually innocuous things like boba or pumpkin spice.
