Spent 18 years working out of Carnarvon on the trawlers working the fishing grounds of Shark Bay. An absolutely beautiful stunning area. Went ashore on Dirk Hartog Island a number of times and got to fish the shallows for bluebone snapper etc as well. A great part of WA. Cheers for the video and the memories Cam.

Hey Cam, this is a bucket list destination for me too...congrats on ticking off yours... I know from the build that you have no solar on the roof, but in this situation, there was no tinnie on the roof for the time you were stationary....maybe you could have a couple of panels on the roof, fixed, and switch the supply, between your blanket and the roof as the situation demands???
@WildTouring3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I reckon I’ll weigh it all set up and see where I’m at. There’s a few things I’ll add if I’ve got the capacity- roof top solar being one of them.

Hey cam how does your mate like his darche awning ? Just bought. A new canopy did have a 30 second awning but I really like the front fold of the darche, did he have any problems closing it down during the big winds during the night
@WildTouring2 жыл бұрын
Yeah he’s very happy with it. No doubt about it- offers a lot more coverage. But it’s significantly more fiddly to set up and pack away. That night with the wind blowing up it took all 3 of us hanging onto the thing to put it away without damaging it.

Great video, do you wish your induction cooker was on the end of the draw table? So you can still access that draw slightly
@WildTouring3 жыл бұрын
Cheers mate. The runners are bolted on in such a way that its reversible if I wanted to. But the table/drawer setup is on a double runner so that the entire drawer can be pulled out without running over the table if that makes sense. The smile on your face driving in, yeah your excited😀😀. Solar on solar... Priceless.. 😂😂 Great insight on your power set up, good to see its working for you, but like you say you need sun, maybe a bigger solar blanket. Little tip, if you got room, keep your Rum or bourbon in the fridge or freezer. Makes it go syrupy, and mixes really well and helps keep the drink cool too. Loving this trip
