@SilverCymbal Electrical Eng & active DIYer here. The "direct to the point" videos & no drama style has gained a sub. FYI: 16kWh @ ~20¢/Wh is available & the value chain stack (i.e.: reseller, OEM & cell maker) all make a profit. ~35-45¢/Wh is quite opportunistic.

Just to compare, * Bluetti AC180P is around the same $500 for similar capacity (1440Wh), it's a name brand, has12v Cigarette output and more USB A port; * Oupes Mega 1 which is about $400 for 1kWh, has more USB-A and USB-C port, also has 12v output, and it's lighter and smaller and has high solar input (800W, mppt: 18-75Vdc, 14A)

Why is switching involved if it's used as a UPS? Does that imply its output bypasses the battery circuitry while it's receiving input power, like a UPS designed to operate with the battery on standby, so that it needs to switch from standby to battery power when the input power has an outage? How many years will it last if its battery is kept charged because it's only used as a UPS and there aren't any power outages that switch it from standby to battery power?

The 113 volt AC output is a little too low. The sander was a little lethargic when starting. I do like that it has a 1536Wh, but I didn't see that tested to determine the % actually delivered. While I do like a quick review, I would prefer if the review included a laptop or desktop running a game in the background when the power is removed. I like the oscilloscope tracing. What happens when the unit reaches zero charge, will it still accept solar charging in the morning?

Harbor Freight has an Atlas battery system for their battery tools. They just released an inverter for their batteries. For me, this is the easiest way to get interested in your bigger batteries.

@@SilverCymbal tabless batteries are supposed to be better in every way and they're already deploying in some power tool packs, so my outlook is even more optimistic not just for watts per dollar but at least same power in smaller footprint for less money...which means same size footprint has more power than ever.

Increased tariffs will mean prices Will skyrocket until tesla ( programmed monopoly?) gets going full sream and of course then need the resources from non tariff (lithium from California destroying environment?) to supply One of the biggest reasons (single biggest) is tariff war started when USA infrastructure was not remotely ready. Warning!! There is NO phone App for this model. Even though there appears to be an Ethernet socket next to the solar charging connector on the right side of the machine I don't know if, or how, updates will be possible. I know I assumed an App would be available. (My Ecoflow River 2 has one.) There is an App but it's only for their larger battery supplies. Silver Cymbal ... I wish you had mentioned this significant missing feature.

Ok, I watch your videos whenever they come out. I have seen you swear by the EcoFlow, and now you are raving about this one. If you had to chose... which one? I mean looking at the stats, in a power outage, most important to me, the refrigerator. And this one, in the description on Amazon say it runs a fridge for an hour. EcoFlow says it can run a fridge for 14 hours. That is what would matter to me, but I have come to trust your advice in you videos, choose lol.

Got this too - nice unit - Question for ya: anybody hacked into it yet? to the inverter settings? Just wondering as I have a Japan 100v appliance I'd like to run direct rather than through the step-down transformer, and know that my 5kw solar inverter/charger can be adjusted for voltage output from 100-120v for just such a purpose. I did write to AmpAura support - and nope - they won't tell me. But I do know that RJ connector on the side is for that purpose - to access tech level programming.

I have lots of electric lawn-care equipment that I don't want to upgrade to battery, and a property that is just a bit too big for extension cords. Will this run things like electric leaf blowers or hedge trimmers, and if so, for how long?

Yes, it definitely will. I have used this type of machine to run a corded dethatcher. This one handled that sander so well, with no issues with surges, and all those motors have that, especially lawn gear. Remember too electric uses no power when you are cuttng or mowing. It will really vary depending on which one you have but even my dethatcher couild be run with this for about an hour and a 1/2 straight. Thats a lot of dethatching.

@@SilverCymbal I am probably using the same dethatcher you have, and I probably bought it on your recommendation... and it makes me unhappy that I can't reach the last 30 feet of my property, and have to use hand tools. On an unrelated note, I also enjoy taking a shot when you say "this thing," so please keep that in mind as you write scripts.

The Purea are rated for 1800W output, with a peak power of 2200W, so it can definitely run a fridge. The runtime will depend on the power consumption of your specific unit.

Definitely, they only cycle on and off as needed and a typical semi-modern unit should be able to run with this one for 24-30 hours, factoring a 20% run rate at 200watts.

While the Chinese solar generator seems ok, they really shady. They cancelled there Amazon link and re-uploaded and jacked the price. Probably did not like that because of the 3.1 Amazon score. Would definitely avoid this one.

just ordered another 4kwh of lifepo4 battery cells for 135 bucks. wholesale lifepo4 is around 30$/kwh, insane. this has to be the bottom of the market, prepare for tarrifs next year. just in terms of cells, the new $13,000 tesla powerwall costs tesls arount $400. im guessing the battery cells are now a minor component in terms of total cost to deliver. no wonder theyre importing chinease cells to put in their evs while they still can...

Could you please tell me how long could we run a regular refrigerator AND a standard standup freezer? I’m in NC and power outages happen during hurricane season. When I retired here from the military, I thought about those things for our home. My house has natural gas for water heater and kitchen stove plus we have a wood burning fireplaceand firewood if heat is needed. I’ve watched and commented on many of your videos and wanted to say Thank You for all the videos you make for us!!

It all depends on the devices and the power they use. Add the consumption of each device and it will give you an answer. Watch any of the videos that explain how to figure this out. It's not something that Silversymbol can answer for you.
