Groundchuck and Dirtbag are two of my favorites (#1 is Scumbug, who is thankfully coming), as I just loved the way their toys looked back in the day. Still do, and these figures look great. Very happy to have them. To note, my Groundchuck shoulder pad came right off, too, and had to be glued on.

Fun fact....Dirt Bag was a boss in a metroidvania for the Gameboy. I associate that character more with Turtles 3: Radical Rescue than i do with the cartoon.

Had to grab this set when it went up for order. Been wanting since they first started. Got it last weekend but saw it in stores today surprisingly. Love this set

It's funny, but these weirder designs really let NECA shine. I was happy enough getting the main TMNT and Foot from them, but these mutants have really been something else. This set is definitely one of their absolute best, and all the colors and paint work really make them stand out. It's making me more excited for the Scumbug and Antrax set.

@@MojoTheClown Ahh.. I never heard that term. "Groundchuck" sounded to me like a cross between Groundhog and Woodchuck, which is why it seemed like a good name for a burrowing rodent guy.

Turtles creators Eastman and Laird were asked to create some more mutants for the Playmates figures and cartoon, they made 3; a Warthog, a Rhino, and a Bull. The first two were picked and became Bebop and Rocksteady, respectfully. It’s nice they got around to using the bull model.

This set is pretty popular I havent seen one in store yet. They really improved from before, the matte finihs paint is used for the animated figures which is a nice choice

This line. Wish I started early on as know would have been help on what to display more of. That aside these two I remember from the big special and don't think ever saw again. One reason was hard to find the show after that showed. Then also so in the NES TMNT 3 the Manhattan Project game.

I'm going to do my best to get the Dirtbag and Groundchuck action figure 2-pack as well as the cartoon-style Tokka and Rahzar action figure 2-pack. The Bebop and Rocksteady figures should've also been made to be the same height as the Dirtbag and Groundchuck figures.

Great review, and I love the NECA TMNT Cartoon line, but it has some serious issues that make the line almost unworthy of collecting. First and foremost, the quality control issues are absurd. You moved Ground Chuck's shoulder pad once and it fell off. I ordered a Bebop and Rocksteady two pack from the NECA store and it took nearly a year to ship. Once it arrived, Rocksteady's left leg broke off in package. It's unacceptable, quite frankly. There seems to be some leveling out of the distribution issues that plagued the line at first, but the accessibility of people new to the line is an instant turn off.
