Ash your videos are all anybody really needs to be prepared to visit the places you cover. You do a great job. Very thoughtful, and your knowledge of these parks is evident. I know Yosemite well, and you didn't miss anything. Your enthusiasm for Grand Teton has really convinced me to visit there, and I'll be following your recommendations closely.

I love your videos. I have purchased your trip planners for Yosemite, Yellowstone and Grand Tetons. I will go to Yosemite in May 2025 and Yellowstone and The Grand Tetons in September 2025. Your trip planners are a big help and I can’t wait to go!

This is perfect timing b/c we are planning a trip there in 2024. Have you by any chance heard that grand Teton national Park might be selling some of their land? That has me concerned. I don’t want development in that park.
@DirtInMyShoes11 ай бұрын
So, Grand Teton has a fair amount of privately held land within its boundaries, and usually, the park tries to buy it up if it gets listed for sale. Not sure if that will happen with this particular parcel, unfortunately, but that's why it's important to support the park's non-profit partners. Last time this happened, they were able to raise the money needed to purchase the parcel! But I think most people don't realize that there is privately owned land in that park.

@@DirtInMyShoes well said. I am familiar with the history of ownership going back to Rockefeller, like you said so important to support the non profit partners....you don't want to fly into the airport and see a sea of homes. I just love that national park lol
@DirtInMyShoes11 ай бұрын
it's my favorite, and it has a really interesting history! The Rockefellers actually relatively recently donated more of their private land within the park (where the Rockefeller Preserve is now). So it's an ongoing story! @@richardthorne2804

Don’t know if you reply to comments or not. But I have a question. I’m planning a trip for my family and some friends and their child. They want to go to Montana /yellowstone. Given our budget we aren’t sure if we can go in Mid May. If we went end of April first of May would it be a waste?? It would be their first time out there and I want to make sure they have a great experience.
@DirtInMyShoes11 ай бұрын
I would not go at that time....the roads won't be fully open at that point and you'll be limited in what you can get to. If you can wait until mid-May at least, you won't be sorry :)

Do you need a permit to go on these or are they free?
@DirtInMyShoes4 ай бұрын
You need to pay an entrance fee when you get there + on certain days, you do need to have a reservation to enter the park. I have a full video here on my channel that will walk you through that reservation process.

Buy a lottery ticket for a camping spot and then enjoy the bumper-to-bumper traffic jam and all the idiots lined up at the souvenir store.
@DirtInMyShoes5 ай бұрын
I mean, that's not how it has to be if you have the right daily schedule :)
@WillyBluefield4 ай бұрын
@@DirtInMyShoes I knew Yosemite back in the day, 1955-75, when you could just show up and get a camping spot, stay for weeks if you wanted, no traffic jams, no hoards, no lines, no crowded hiking trails, just quiet beauty ... and you didn't need 'the right' daily schedules.

Good video, but it would seem you missed a few: 1) While in Yosemite DO not get lost. 2) While in Yosemite DO not get taken by a Bigfoot. 3) While in Yosemite DO not get abducted by Aliens... ....hahahahahaha....
