Richard, you have some great tips in here. I have 49,000 miles on my Taycan 4S. I have toggled on and off that battery friendly state a few times, I agree they should just name it food break. I was going to say that the hand writing feature is very handy if you are driving and navigating to a destination that the voice recognition does not handle. I have found that it’s fairly easy to write in a location while still looking at the road and once you enter enough, glanced down and select the correct entry. I did also feature the passenger displays so if I have a copilot, they can type into the keyboard while in motion on that display.

@2:10 - that implies that petrol heads say all petrol cars are fast... about 80% of the UK cuts about in cars that can barely hit 100mph on a smooth autobahn in their current condition and do 0-60 in about 2 years. An EV for an "average joe" is a massive performance upgrade in a vast majority of all petrol to EV comparisons. Oh and then there's diesel 😂

Great video. The only thing that stopped me from getting the Porsche over a Tesla was the range. Guy in Porsche said the real world range on a cold day won’t exceed 190 miles. I probably would have dealt with that if the waiting time for a new one also wasn’t 18months to 2 years.
@RSEV2 жыл бұрын
I did another video a few months back. 260 miles at constant motorway speed. It’s not bad. Then of course super fast charging. Dashboard range estimate is variable (unlike Tesla) based on recent efficiency. Drive it hard or shuffle around town, heating on etc and it drops.

Good and fair(ish) review. I do resonate with your feelings about it being a keeper and sense that if I let mine go I would end up regretting instantaneously - that said, to ease myself away from it - a change to the ST GTS flavour may be the way to go - but with supply and wait times to get one taking eons or even light years away, something else may end up trumping it given the explosion of offerings beginning to emerge from the upper end of the EV market - so its still a keeper for me - as you rightly say, its a sense of occasion neither a Tesla or etron GT can deliver

Seen this in the flesh before I started following or had just started at a EV show at Gaydon last year. You were probably standing beside it that Saturday near the front entrance on the grass. I like the Taycan it just looks the part. I can only imagine the second gen of these will be even better. Still lacking the tech of Tesla but what an interior ok it’s a £120k Car it should look a bit special. I hate things you spot and think ho did they miss this. I’m Glad Waze works, I use it on my travels and when I said I was down at Gaydon motor museum that weekend at the EV show I’d driven from Glasgow😁 It sounds like the Tech it just needs to be a bit smarter in the Taycan. But it is the EV I’d have if money was no issue. I bought a petrol BMW factory ordered split new and it was the first of a new generation think I was like the twelfth on the U.K. roads so much so people noticed and pointed. But never again it was in 18 times for faults, fixes and failures - it sat at a dealers for a month they wouldn’t let me drive it while they waited on parts ok I had a lovely loaner but still. I’d love to do the NC 500 in Scotland in that Taycan and I drive like a nun or so people tell me 😁 I’m just careful. So really Porsche it’s a report card 3.5 out of 5 could do better but still great. Still one of the best in-depth channels covering what people really want to know.

One pedal driving is a must, one of the best things with EVs . Hope Porsche fix it via a system update. And it should remember your settings, so you don't have to do them every time. Does it support more users? So it change to your settings when it detects your phone, set the drive settings, seats etc?

It may have track mode but the M3P comes with standard road brakes and fluid. No way is that car suitable for a track without extensive modifications. My Taycan has done 20+ track days and has just had its 20k service. It passed with 7mm still on the ceramic brake pads. Never a moment of brake fade even repeating 150 mph to 70 mph all day. I finish a day at Goodwood and take it to Waitrose to do the shopping. No other EV can do this. Next Taycan is on order, to be followed by the electric Cayman in 2025.
