Gotta say I think that's the first time I've ever seen someone stall a bike while going downhill! I know exactly what he's doing wrong on that offroad stuff, he's concentrating too hard on what's right in front of his wheel rather than looking where he wants to be and giving it some. If he rode like that on a downhill mtb trail, he'd go over the bars at the bottom of the start ramp lol! What would've made that whole sequence even more hilarious, would be if some elderly local buzzed past him on an old C90. :D

He can’t ride (all his reviews even if something like a fire blade are plodding about on wet lanes with no real corners) or even understand basic mechanics but opines about which thing is best. How would he know? That Enfield custom is the biggest heap I’ve seen and yet he proclaims to love it. Standing on the bike when riding through the rough terrain: As Matt rightfully said - you want to keep the bike straight. In my opinion it is easier to hold and keep the handlebars straight when you are standing. Keeping the front wheel straight and keeping the bike moving keeps the bike up.

I think, the main reason we stand up when on rougher surface is more about the suspension than our leverage for turning. Most bikes rear suspension (monoshock) join towards the front or middle of the seat kinda area and point back and down towards the shock or linkage, so when you're sat down your weight is quite far back and quite high and making that suspension work really hard, when you stand up, your weight is on the pegs - below and in front of where the shock joins - and also your ankles, knees and hips are doing some of the suspension for your upper body too - so even though the weight is the same, how it impacts is different. If you sit down over rocky terrain, you get bounced all over, but if you stand up, it tends to soak a lot more up. Of course, this also makes it easier to move the bike with your knees, so you can be more loose with your arms, as you mentioned. On another note, regarding his 'ABS' issue, as you noticed and pointed out, he constantly had his clutch in, so with ABS off, locking rear wheel is very easy = not slowing down. 1st gear, release clutch, use brake, the engine should stop it locking the rear wheel (slipper clutch may allow some locking) and therefore the braking will actually work better..

if a company has the 'this call may be recorded' bumf at the start of a call then you dint have to tell them you are as well because they've an expectation it's recorded. as for hagon yeah they make in house based on bike, rid8ng style, use and rider weight. i hear a lot of mixed opinions about hagon. i dont know... but i used them in racing sport, butchering them in sand and weather. and most of the time after 2 years they shit the bed. but eh, the same also counted for a way more expensive ohlins shocks. (mechanical stuff needs attention and fails with abuse..) the biggest difference is that a more expensive ohlins shock that it has finer options for damping and springload etc.. so for the price, and what you get over all, hagon is pretty good i think.

I get the feeling that he got into riding last week he didn't get to have the kids apprenticeship of raging an old shitter around a field and progressing from that. I have never owned a bike with ABS or any electronic aids don't spose I ever will I'm on my first car with abs tried it in icy conditions and deliberately trigger it never felt it intrude again. I think it would would be a bit strange to feel it on a bike for an old git like me with maybe less than twenty riding years left Yes he was a pussy coming down the hill

16:14 genuine question: why not yss? I'm currently in the market for a new rear shock and yss is kinda the only available option other than used are they that bad? lol I don't usually get as engaged as this something about ill matt is doing it for me but when I saw the screwdriver wedging on the swingarm I actually out loud shouted "no you knob", oh god the clench on the second one

@@morri03 well the thing is I did a bit of research and I've kinda heard both ways some say that they're not ohlins but they're alright and some say within the year they've leaked and become useless which is why I'm so on the fence about it and unfortunately because I live in germany now any parts have to come with a certificate (ABE or TUV) which kinda limits my options a little coupled with it being a ZZR600E4 (1996) any options reputable brands like ohlins used to make are discontinued so I'm a bit stuck, the only other option I had was wilbers but again I've never heard of them. I was kinda hoping to hear from matt directly it sounded like he had something to say about them specifically

@@morri03 yeah I've seen that video that was one of the ones that made me think it was ok, like I said the people who say they're not so far are so non-specific that it's almost meaningless. so for example if someone says "I installed this shock and it broke what a waste" well hang on now what did you do with it? was it made for your bike? was it adjusted correctly? were you pushing it to do things it was not meant to do? It's like the people who give enfield a hard time because the steering head snapped on the himalayan well sure you can say it shouldn't happen I agree but the fact is the bike is made to LOOK like it handles that terrain and those activities but the price should clue you in that it isn't meant to actually do it if you get what I mean

Not everyone, but guys like TMF ride GSs because they think if they ride anything smaller, people think they have a small peepee and/or are riding a 125. In fact, they know so little about bikes that they probably mistake my bikes for 125s, as they bimble around their suburbs at the mind-boggling speed of 35mph.

Well this one made me chuckle when I watched him balls up the original, then I loved your take on it. I am not a great fan of Missenden Flyer simply because I feel he tends to be a tad condescending. I could not believe that he put the springs on top to bottom when he should have put the bottom bolt in first. I would love to know what his "mechanic" thought of him when he had to turn up and do a proper job! Mind you why did he replace the original shocks that were fitted at the factory in the first place? When the new ones pissed oil he should have put the originals back on rather than spend a load of money on upgraded ones... Er its an Enfield not a racing bike... Sort of sums him up really.... Great video keep them coming always cheers me up and I learn a lot as well :)
