20-30% schizophrenia patients are treatment resistant. Treatment gap is 70% Access to treatment is limited in India, so delayed treatment causes poor response to treatment Invariably (approximately) 30-40% of schizophrenia patients are eligible for disability Stigma and discrimination is huge in India. Once a diagnosis of schizophrenia is made, marriage and getting job becomes distant dream Even if they get married divorce is inevitable and if they get a job, they are removed from the job under various pretexts Please discuss with your doctor

Yes. This issue was discussed in detail. Unable to access to treatment, unable to afford for treatment, do not want to take treatment or taking ineffective treatment should not be considered for disability assessment or evaluation
