Quick little note, I'm pretty sure forehands have LESS spin than backhands, hence the shorter flight for the same speed.

They have much less spin

Torque

This is correct, they just have more torque somehow - there was a whole techdisc overthrow disc golf episode on it. They were surprised too.

Yeah they have more potential for off axis torque

I replied to a different comment but yes, I meant to say torque, not spin, :/ oops@@brannnnnnn

Nice overview! Forehand throws tend to have less spin, but it is common for beginners to be able to generate a bit more speed on a forehand throw than a backhand.

Which is why I can forehand a 12 speed disc well and struggle backhanding a 10 speed disc.

Glad I got to catch a video day of drop. Yes, this is basic stuff-but nothing like a refresher every couple of months.

On a forehand u get more initial spin but a backhand has Way more spin and spin potential. Tested on a tech disc forehands come no where near a backhands spin like less then half for me ...
@coryryan23587 ай бұрын
Spin is created in a backhand by the pull back when the disc snaps out of your hand, but must be created by your wrist snap on a forehand. There's no resistance to eject out of your hand and cause spin natually, so it must be added in your forehand.

Is it legal to use a backhand/forehand throw inside Circle 1? I thought you had to use a putting throw (push/spush) inside that circle. I’m new to disc golf and haven’t played in a tournament. I am following my “rule” when I practice throwing.
@SixSidedDiscs8 ай бұрын
So to my knowledge, you could use a forehand or backhand type throw but you can't proceed past your lie while putting. You have to "maintain balance behind your lie" until the disc comes to rest if you're inside Circle 1. So you can "putt" it however you want, if that looks like a forehand grip, backhand, invent any grip/technique you want, if it adheres to the law of the game and staying behind your lie, its fine.

I was expecting you'll show different shots for approach & fairway discs after you showed all types of discs as the title says Types of discs and how to throw them, but it was only driving and putting 🤷🏻♂️😀
