Interesting fact the final scene where Hagrid gives Harry that book with the picture in it, that was actually the first thing that they filmed Daniel Radcliffe's eyes look puffy because, he tried colored contacts the character in the book Harry has green eyes. He was allergic to those and so they had to remove them, if you also look at Hermione Emma Watson they tried putting buck teeth in her mouth but it was hard for her to speak so they removed them as well

You can't relax with Devil's snare to get out of it you need to use light or fire in some way. Ron actually never freaked out it was Hermione who couldn't remember that she could start a fire without wood. It took him reminding her that she's a witch that she can start fire without wood. A lot of the lines that Hermione got were taken from Ron, he did a lot of the explaining of The Wizarding World where they basically gave that to Hermione. And a lot of his Brave scenes they also gave to hermione.
@Syntell11 ай бұрын
Now that's an interesting nugget of info.
@toodlescae11 ай бұрын
@@Syntell yeah the screenwriter said in an interview that he preferred Hermione's character. Basically he gave Ron's character the shaft by making him a slightly stupid and cowardly comedic sidekick when he was anything but in the books. He even took some of Harry's lines and ideas and gave them to Hermione.

The reason most muggles don't see magic happening around them is sometimes attributed to protective spells having been places on objects or places so that regular none magical folks can't see or notice them. For example, Hogwarts is a massive castle located in the highlands of Scotland. But when muggles come across it they only see old ancient empty castle ruins. If muggles find themselves getting too close to it then suddenly the muggles will start to think they have someplace important they have to go to that they previously forgotten about. In rare other cases when a muggle happens to witness magic by mistake, the local wizarding government called The Ministry of Magic will come and magically erase that particular memory from the muggle's mind. Certain cases are allowed only to a certain extent, like in the case of a wizard or witch having been born from a muggle family or is being raised by a muggle family like Harry and the Dursleys for example. But even then the wizarding child is not allowed to perform magic even in front of their muggle family even though their muggle family members know about their relative being born a witch or wizard and that they attend Hogwarts. The Wizarding communities consider it vital that their existence remain a secret for their protection incase for example muggles decide to bring back the witch trials and start burning wizards at the stake again among many other reasons as well. 🏰🪄
@Khornedevotee3 ай бұрын
I get that that is a historic reason that goes way back, but if the wizardry world was discovered in the real world, obviously witch burnings would not happen. Instead, they would probably be persecuted and locked behind bars without their wands because they could not be trusted. If the wizards and witches fought back, which they probably would, there would be war, but that would still not lead to witch burnings other than from fanatical religious anti-magic cults I suppose, which would be relatively rare and not be government enforced but sorta like a self-appointed militia of sorts, taking it upon themselves to eradicate the threat of wizards and witches. On the other hand, some in the government might pay these fanatics to help the government deal with the wizards and witches if they have a problem dealing with them effectively, avoiding being caught under legal scrutiny and having to explain any discrepancies to those civilians and reporters who might protest against the witch-huntings and who might vouch for the wizards and witches being killed and/or lynched and such, and as such, the civilians will look to the same government funding these witch-hunts who will then gain votes and support if they reassure the general public that they will see to it that the wizards and witches will be dealt with in a humane way, but if the general public will want freedom for the wizards and witches, then the government runs into problems of course. Cloak and dagger shadow funding, sorta like funding terrorism in a way. At the same time I feel that some(many) in the government would not really want the wizards and witches to be hunted down if they found out that most of them are decent people, just like normal people, and that sentiment would gradually increase the more people found out what wizards and witches are actually like. But that would be a loong, loong road of trial and error, and acquainting themselves with the wizardry world's population, to find that out, that they could start to trust more of the elites of the wizardry world, and therefore most of the wizards and witches, with few exceptions of course. It's interesting to consider what would happen if it was a thing in real life, but also kinda scary haha.

Being a Potterhead literally since the first book and being a walking talking encyclopedia, here’s some little random stuff and my personal opinion for you: In the books, book 5, they do mention a Christmas carol they have and it’s called God Rest Ye Merry Hippogriff. The director, Chris Columbus, who also directed Home Alone, let his daughter play Susan Bones, who gets placed in Hufflepuff … the best house 💛 The reason we a lot of us love the franchise is cause a lot of us grew up with the characters. I was 11 when the first movie came out and 20 when the last one came out, and it felt crazy having it over cause it was such a huge impact in my life. It also saved me during a lot of traumatic moments in my life, cause after each one I end up reading the books again. I recommend keep watching. My fiancé and I just introduced her 10 year old daughter and now our entire house is Harry Potter theme and we are obsessed with the Hogwarts Legacy game as well lol. Sorry for the life story. It does get better and more adult, I swear. The best one is the 3rd one!

One of the things about these books (& hence the movies) is that the audience grew up along with the characters. Therefore, while the first movies were more child-like, the stakes get higher as they go along as the characters (and initial audience) age. So, you may appreciate or enjoy the subsuquent movies more as the tension and stakes build.

I was 36 when my daughter gave me Harry Potter and the Philosopher`s Stone as a Christmas present. When I started reading it, I did it for her sake, and I wasn`t pleased at all about having been "forced" to read a children`s book. To my surprise, I fell in love with it. The very next day, after I finished the book, I drove 20 miles to buy the second one. I didn`t read the books, I ate them :))) When the movies came out, I loved them to bits.

You can keep your bowlers black, Your top hats sleek and tall, For I'm the Hogwarts Sorting Hat And I can cap them all. There's nothing hidden in your head The Sorting Hat can't see, So try me on and I will tell you Where you ought to be. You might belong in Gryffindor, Where dwell the brave at heart, Their daring, nerve, and chivalry Set Gryffindors apart; You might belong in Hufflepuff, Where they are just and loyal, Those patient Hufflepuffs are true And unafraid of toil; Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw, if you've a ready mind, Where those of wit and learning, Will always find their kind; Or perhaps in Slytherin You'll make your real friends, Those cunning folks use any means To achieve their ends. So put me on! Don't be afraid! And don't get in a flap! You're in safe hands (though I have none) For I'm a Thinking Cap!" 🧙♂️🧙♀️🪄✨⚡🖤 BTW, I was sorted into Gryffindor and my brother was sorted into Slytherin in the Pottermore (now called Wizarding World) official website. The website was created by the Sony company and the author of the Harry Potter books, JK Rowling. I had to take a fun and special personality test to find out what house I am in. As one of the people who grew up reading the books and then seeing the movies, I very much enjoyed the movies even though they left out a lot from the books. I actually feel like it's easier to enjoy the movies when you've read the books because they fill in a lot of the context that is missing from the movies. If you watch the entire series, you will probably find yourself quite often thinking that something came out of nowhere or doesn't quite make sense, but that is going to be because something from the book that explained it is left out.

Books vs the movies: The first book was short (kid-friendly length), so the movie could tell the full story easily. But the books kept getting longer, and each movie had to cut out more details. That's why the final book needed 2 movies. It was the only way to tell the whole story. PS Each book/movie covers Harry's next year, ages 11-17. AND, the author planned them out as one long story arc. So clues and details can become important a year or three later!

15:13 Haha you're right! Flying was one of the few things Hermione wasn't good at. She was still considered the brightest witch of their age, though.

Oh I was looking for some new HP reactions and got surprised to see this as I know Syntell from Jaby's channel and didn't even know he was doing his own thing 😅 Yes please do continue with the series! I agree with your ratings by the way, I'd give this one 8/10 too.

All of those owls that you saw sitting all over their neighborhood and their house in the beginning they only had four or five owls and then they just CGIed it to be a continuous thing so it looked like a lot more birds And yeah in the books he was oblivious as hell he made his hair grow back overnight one time another time he teleported himself when he was being chased by Dudley and some of his friends he teleported himself to the roof of their school to get away and still never thought he was using magic

This why I missed Syntell and Mikel Claire team up. The pop culture references and calling out actions of characters. I felt some kind of way about the points and setting up a caste system for kids. Many of the same people who watched The Wizard of Oz loyally each year trying to ban Harry Potter. And I remember Vickie the robot.

In my opinion, this is the only Harry Potter movie where the clues are all in plain view. The other movies, along with 1 other clue from this movie, takes more thought and paying close attention.

There’s a Wicca store that’s been in little five points since as long as I’ve been alive! I used to go there with my older sister

Welcome to The Wizarding World rabbit hole that is Harry Potter. The best thing about the Sorcerer's/Philosopher's Stone, to me is that the chambers following the third-floor corridor containing Fluffy each play to the strengths of Harry, Ron and Hermione. The Devil's Snare chamber caters to Hermione's knowledge of spells. The room with the winged keys caters to Harry's skill with quidditch. And the chess room caters to Ron's knowledge of how to play chess. Side note: The Sorting Hat chooses new students' houses based on their corresponding personality traits: Gryffindor-Bravery, helping others, and chivalry. Hufflepuff-Hard work, patience, loyalty, and fair play. Ravenclaw-Intelligence, knowledge, and wit. Slytherin-Ambition, cunning and resourcefulness.

it's thanks to my dad who brought the disc/vhs (i don't know anymore lmao) that made me discover this movie. I found the story very interesting, I was around 12 years old.

34:57 isn’t it interesting that each stage is something that one of them is good at. Hermione with the Devils Snare, Ron with the Chess & Harry with the broom.

It’s all fun and games till you get to Goblet of Fire Harry Potter 4 then the tone of the films becomes very dark, and the stakes become very high from then on out. The last 2 films are the darkest and almost has the dark tone of a war film.

The points only counts when a teacher or prefect speaks it out loud in the presence of witnesses. That's another cool detail from the books.

Yes when the books came out there was an issue about the sorcery in the magic, but interesting little facts it is not religious based when it comes to the Harry Potter franchise it is genetics in science base. You have to have the magical Gene in order for you to even be able to perform Magic. And I believe if I'm not mistaken and one of the books they mentioned a science involving Magic class. Harry Potter is on the banned book list when it comes to private schools that are christian-based. Now JK Rowling has stated that she gave a bunch of different religions to different characters catholic christian Jewish. The one religion that she never gave out and would never see at Hogwarts is Wicca
