I've never seen that kind of gunk build-up in my dishwasher - and I always use the 50° cycle (no manual pre-rinse). Even at 50 °C, detergents should be able to dissolve fats and break down starch and proteins. What I find in the filter is mostly woody items such as seeds and fruit stems. Are you dosing the detergent correctly and isn't the thermostat broken by any chance?

its a newish dishwasher so isnt faulty, the only other thing it could be is poor qaulity tablets at a guess
