If you want to calculate calories take Protein grams * 4, Carb grams * 4 and Fat grams * 9 and add them all together. One thing I always do is weigh myself with my clothes on so that it matches closer if I have a doc visit that day. I also use an audio scale (yes it loudly announces my weight) because I have to write it down and especially at this time of year it's too dark to see the numbers (a nurse calls me weekly for the numbers and my blood pressure numbers). I just started WW (I was on it sometime back before 1990) and so far am enjoying the WW tracking app (I've tried other tracking apps that were too cumbersome). I signed up with the diabetes plan tracked for a day then switched it off to see what the difference was. End result is that you get more daily points on the diabetes plan but have more foods that cost points like fruit. I switched back to the diabetes plan as it makes more sense for me but thought the difference was interesting.

I'm eating the same as I was but enjoying beef without guilt. Oatmeal is great too. I do eat potatoes often so that's a plus. But, honestly I still limit beef and potatoes and oatmeal too.

If knowing calories is important to you, when you enter your food, scroll down and the calories are there but you have to add them all up. They don't keep a rolling total.

I wish I could have focused on the new plan this week. I broke my toe on Monday evening. So my week was doctors visit one day, and orthopedist another day. Life is hard. I gained 2 lbs. But my thinking is that the 2.9 I lost last week was a lot of water weight. This week, I also gave up soda. And I could not walk to the restroom easily, so I know I didn't drink enough. Sorry if TMI. Am I understanding the macros information correctly. So....the app is now tracking macros but it doesn't tell you what you should be aiming for. So, these numbers mean nothing to me. After some digging - it looks like you have to make an appointment through the clinic to find out your "target macros". Is this correcf??
