Even though we didn't get a Lizzie reboot I'm glad Hilary Duff stood her ground against Disney. She knows how much the show meant to us and wanted to give us a quality product.

I hate how they cancelled the revival for being too adult but then, they're suddenly so determined to get the Netflix Marvel shows for themselves, they give their subscribers a parental control option for when they want to watch the adult shows! Wtf!!!!
@Greybell3 ай бұрын
It never made sense to me that they turned down her idea for a grown up Lizzie. I mean, it wouldn't work if they want another Raven's Home because Lizzie was a coming of age story. No kids younger than 13 would care or know who Lizzie is. Also, they could've made Lizzie grown up revival as the selling point for Disney+.
@paintingdreams2903 ай бұрын
the thing is it ultimately made sense in the end (like it wouldnt have worked at all on Disney + and they should've moved it to Hulu i'd say) bc Disney + is in general a place for Disney content overall, but it depends on the label as to how far Disney is willing to allow the content to go (i.e Star Wars and Marvel shows are under those brand titles and thus can be adult) anything under the Hulu title also has this chance, whereas Disney + content that dont rlly fit in2 these categories often are under the Disney Brand which in general is supposed to be family friendly.

I don't even think they are coping. Most people I know who are big into nostalgia have good lives, they're into it just for the sake of it (or as I often put it, because of.. reasons). Plus it's nothing new. The reason the old western movies with cowboys were popular for so long was because they were nostalgic for 40-60 years olds of the time.

The early to mid 2000s was Disney's greatest Era. Have to give a thanks to the late great Whitney Houston because she exectively produced the Cheetah Girls, Princess Diaries and Cinderalla, which inspired Disney to make more musicals like High School Musical, Camp Rock, Descendants, etc. Plus this current generation sucks, we are so quick to make remakes instead of making our own classics. whats odd is hollywood is said to have the "best minds, writers and talent etc" but they can't seem to come up with an original idea?
@walterhenry10093 ай бұрын
It's not about original that is easier than, promotion cuz, for a successful new idea film you need well known lead cast, and they are typically supper expensive like "20 million dollars" Pay check type of, expensive then comes the track list with a list singers who have hype but, can't really sing like "Billie Eilish" Making songs like "What was I made for" She isn't un listenable just, not that good they, there is budget for promotion, "Press Tour, Piracy Control Budget". Etc. So Yeah! Also the major reason is, greed they, are now trying to, make a billion dollars from each film" Instead of actually creating something fresh! Fresh storylines, and actors newly out of, "Theatre school"!.
@latishabuckner82313 ай бұрын
I think they do have the best minds, actors, writers and such. But the studios aren't giving them the freedom to create. Instead of a writer being able to create a fresh character with an intriguing story, studio execs say they want to make a movie about Madam Web, and these are all the things that must be in the script, off you go 🤷🏾♀️

@walterhenry10093 ай бұрын
I haven't even been paying attention to most recent reboots it's, just something I watch for, the nostalgic effect u know like feel "you are a kid once again, or in middle school again" but, for some reason these reboots actually fail so so badly to, recreate that nostalgia it, just serve as a sticker note effect, just to remind you of an era of, your life not really recreate an actual mood! For example I wanted charmed series at 2010 Original for the first time, and that is where my love for tv shows started only for me to watch the reboot, and be disappointed couldn't even finish it, the changes where horrible! Except casting which was okay could have been more diverse would have been better, more fun to watch, Only good reboot I've seen is "Shadow Hunters" First two season's, And "Wins Club" "Faith series" And that is my second fave cartoon of all time right after, The earlier Barbie (Fairytale, non Fairytale) Era! I kinda liked Cruella but, they could have done better, but, I like their spin on not making it a magical film even if still sci-fi it, was thrilling, the little mermaid was horrible for the bad singing Halle literally carried the vocal work on her back! (Haven't watched the film though, yet)The prince actor is a horrible singer, "Nicholas Galitzine" should have done the singing or, "Ben Platt" even if I don't like nicholas much as an actor he isn't that good, it feels fake most times which brings me to the next good reboot "The Craft: Legacy". Even if the original film is thrilling, "Chilling adventures of Sabrina" started good, and progressed into shit, I only watched the first season though I've stopped watching film all together for like 2 years now, but, yeah! Yes sometimes it's good but, I think one of the reason they are yet to, make capturing reboot is the heavy dependence on, C.G.I which makes for good pictures, and music videos but, not much full length films, only well done C.G.I film I've seen is, "Netflix School For, Good, and Evil" But, typically C.G.I doesn't make for good film, I think that, is the most recent movie I've watched like I said I don't have watching capacity as much recently for, film, and series but, I often make an, attempt just, not as easy! Also another reboot I really liked although almost nothing as good as the original is "Death On The, Nile" You should see this film watch the original first it's, one of my fave film of all time so trilling, exiting!. Another good one is, "Mirror Mirror 2012” "Hunt's man winter's war whitch is the first non animated film I saw in theaters! I remember my, big sis took me to see it, I don't do that much either, 😅! But, it's fun, Yes we need originals cuz, my fave type of movie is true life adaptations" Like "Lion 2016” Or, "Hotel Mumbai 2018", and the horror films like "Carrie 2016”, "Joker 2019", and #americanhorrorstory! Or, Pure thriller like, "Django Unchained 2012" Or, "Night Crawler"! I'm don't really even like action but, " Rom-com is fun" And even more nostalgic than theses recent reboots! Well that's pretty much it but, a reboot I'll be willing to se is "Disney Girl vs. Monster, Ant Farm, and Twitches"!. That is if they don't ruin it, I didn't watch "Lion King" reboot too even if I'm obsessed with, "Donald Glover"!. As a singer, and creative I don't really know him as an actor, and the literary made " Mood 4 ever" by Beyonce so much better! I should actually watch the film so I can hear some more of his singing!. His a much better singer than, rapper! His flow as, a rapper is weak! Just has hype lyrical work!. I said a lot! 😊.

I think the issue is people who are like older GenZ let’s say 95 to 2005 maybe even like 2008 we are kind of like the last group of people that watched Disney Channel and would care about reboots of the shows. Really everyone else after that grew up even more on the Internet than we did. I remember when I was 19, I’m 24 now, that even I noticed Disney Channel trying to appeal to young adults and trying to hold onto us as long as possible because we were probably the last group of people to really watch Disney Channel like that. So you have the reboot of the shows where these people are going to be young adults versus the premise of Disney Channel, which being for kids kind of conflicting

At my age, do they really expect me to come back to a kids channel to watch a show centered around the children of characters i used to watch? Are we going to force our own kids to watch these reboots with us so we're not adult weirdos, when kids today watch more YT than TV??? It doesn't work. A movie or a special is fine but a series, its usually a miss. Raven's Home was successful cuz it was organic and just genuinely a good show for it's young audience. And I did watch some episodes myself even being in my 30s. Booker was the star with the same charisma as Raven.

Stop with reboots and FUND the original series that they’re coming out with instead. There’s a lot of great ideas, but because they don’t get immediate traction, companies want to dump them. Edit: The Lizzie McGuire reboot sounded amazing. The people who grew up with Lizzie are in their late 20s-early 30s now. Let’s be real. It’s not like Disney hasn’t tangoed with a PG-13 rating before. They did it with Boy Meets World back then and plenty of other early 2000s works.

for the wizzards reboot, it would be better if they just made a show about other family that is somewhat related. There is no need to keep milking the same stars over the same shows 10-15 years later. More so considering they are under a pg13 limit, "lets make adults act like children" just doesnt sell anymore
@sophiaarias93413 ай бұрын
i think the show could definitely still work under a pg-13 limit. just because you don’t cuss or talk about sex doesn’t mean you are “acting like a child”. the only problem is that disney channel is now in a phase where all their tv shows are aimed towards a much younger elementary school demographic as opposed to the 2000s era where all their shows were targeting preteens and teens.

I don’t mind them because I love seeing original series come back but the issues is how bad the writing and content is compared to the original. I'm mad that Justin giving up his powers to fully be mortal means he and Juliet didn't wind up together 😢 I agree that most shows could do a reunion special or made for T.V. movie as opposed to a full blown reboot/sequel series. I know it was a movie series but The Best Man did it right with their Final Chapters mini-series on Peacock. They did a great job continuing the stories of the main characters in about 7-8 episodes and ending things in a satisfying way. Did they leave the door open for more? Yes, but even if we didn't get ANYMORE beyond the series; fans were satisfied. We'll see if this reboot will be any good. Zeke was alright as a character, but if he got recast or something; what can ya do? It's completely believable that our friends from high school/college aren't in our lives as we grow into adulthood. Don't forget that some characters from Zoey 101 weren't in the movie for one reason or another.

I mean if you really think about it, the only remaining Disney Channel Show they could go revisit is Wizards. For the other shows, the actors either hate Disney due to childhood trauma and tried so hard to rebrand themselves and escape the Disney syndrome and be seen as mature adults (Miley, Demi, Sprouse Twins, Jonas Brothers I think). Or the actors ended up becoming criminals (Kyle Massey, Orlando Bloom, that red head guy from Zeke and Luther). Or the show was never popular to warrant a sequel (Best Friends Whenever, I Didn’t Do It, Dog with a Blog). Or they quit Hollywood (Leigh-Allyn Baker). Wizards is literally the only popular show where majority of the actors would love to reprise their roles. Selena was asked which project she would like to revisit or redo and she said definitely Wizards. My idea for a Wizards revival is this: Alex is the fun, single and irresponsible Aunt. Justin is married with 2-3 kids that are all Wizards. So basically Alex gets into trouble and as punishment is forced to help train Justin’s kids as they learn to become Wizards and help their friends too at Wiztech or something. They get into crazy shenanigans and we see what life is like for Alex and Justin as 30 year old wizards. The Russo family could be recurring characters but I don’t think you really need them that much, so they can be guest stars. Maybe Max could be a main character, but he’s so dumb, they would need to do something interesting with him. I think Harper should be like a recurring character.
@paintingdreams2903 ай бұрын
i think the main reason that Justin is the main focus this time around is bc Selena has a lot of other stuff that she's busy with new music, (she said she was releasing the album pretty soon), Only Murders s4 which'll probably begin filming soon and i think she has some other film roles, from what it seems she'll be a recurring character in the show tho.

Both Wizards and Phineas & Ferb don't deserve a reboot, like, the shows were amazing in their original run, i can't see the same quality coming from these recycling even if they had the same cast and crew. The reboot/Requels era of Hollywood could have work if they given a second opportunity to shows and movies that deserved more than what they have or were ahead of their time, like what happened with Clone High, but up to this point, almost every show and movie that were rebooted was something that was already popular, like whats Disney doing with their classics, and also, Hollywood is so obsessed with these recycling that forgets that they also must give a new generation of original content that matchs with the current state of what we want of entertainment. But until a crisis in the industry happen (which is pretty possible, due to WBD in almost state of bankruptcy) or a bigger The Amazing Digital Circus or Hazbin Hotel scenario happen, i guess many people will still blame my generation for this garbage instead than blaming the guys in suits that are leading the industry.

Reboots are so awful now I've never been a huge fan of reboots. I like originality & think that shows should stay in the past & not be rebooted. I don't think u can strike gold twice. Raven's Home is decent and average at best BUT it will never compare to the original & I feel the same about this Wizards Of Waverly Place reboot as well as the Icarly reboot & Mean Girls. I grew up watching disney in the mid to late 2000's so i saw Thats So Raven , Highschool Musical 1 2 & 3 as well as Wizards Of Waverly Place , Good Luck Charlie , Corey in The House , Cheetah Girls 1 2 & 3 etc. as a kid like literally between the age of 3 to 12. I feel bad for this generation because all they have are reboots. They don't have anything original. Plus alot of kids today think that the reboots are originals. I just wish when it came to television and Movies that there were originals. Nothing can compare to originals IMHO (In My Humble Opinion). I'm fine w/ the Wonka being remade because it's a timeless classic that will never go out of style. Gene Wilder , Johnny Depp , and Timothee Chalamet all did well w/ the role & every generation is going to have their own Willy Wonka. In the 70s it was Gene. In the early 2000's it was Johnny & now early 2020's its Timothee Chalamet. Wonka is a classic for each & every generation to come , however moving forward I would like to see original movies & tv shows.

There’s a reason why shows come to an end. And usually it’s because all stories that are relevant to the hero’s journey have been told. There simply is nothing more to say or show, everything else will just reiterate what we as the audience already know about the character. First and foremost, there needs to be conflict. And it needs to make sense and feel organic. With the dad we just accepted that he was the type of guy to give up his career (or magic abilities) his wife & children. And that brought on a whole host of problems, complex feelings and (subconcious) expectations. But Justin? I don’t know, why would that make his character interesting? We know now that he’ll pretty much do the same thing his father did. Not super exciting tbh. Being the first person to sacrifice everything for your family? Takes guts. Growing up and changing your outlook on life after seeing how well your dad’s life played out. Yeah I guess it’s fun to see how the siblings turned out but come on! We need original stories. And we need good ones, stories that make sense in today’s world without making us cringe about the depictions of mundane family life. Idk why Disney has failed to give us that - repeatedly might I add

I am interested in watching Justin being the main character. This basically boy meets world part 2.

This sequel focuses on Justin and it's family friendly they can keep it honestly it sounds boring. The adults that grew up with the show don't wanna watch a kids show.

some shows are just not meant to have a reboot… it’s ok to bring certain shows/movies back but at mega corps need to allow for more creative freedom or they’ll just end up wasting millions of dollars on unrewatchable soulless flops. I think the Neds Declassified Pod is a good example of bringing back a show but through a new lens. I wish they were allowed to make an actual adult version of the show cuz it would be really good!

Everything doesn't need to be a remake/reboot/ remix. Maybe just maybe they can make an original and creative idea without depending on nostalgia points. Nothings nostalgic anymore because they ruin it trying to milk every good drop out of it. Make shows they this generations kids will grow up to love instead of shoving the last generations nostalgia down everyones throat.

Many shows don't need a reboot! I love Lizzie McGuire and the show deserves a reboot because it never got a proper ending. However, in an interview with a writer made me rethink the show. Too many stupidity! Gordo married with a baby on the way? No relationship with Lizzie? Lizzie wakes up in Ethan Craft's bed? And I read they just automatically wanted to make Miranda queer. And for what reason? Miranda never struck me as gay. Like, how can you just up and make a character gay who never seemed gay. Just create a gay character. None of their storylines made sense. It just makes me not watch the show if they rebooted it. And Wizards Of Waverly Place ended 12 years ago. Why does it need a reboot? David Henrie and Disney seems desperate.

we are in a reboot season unfortunatly. its almost lazy bc producers are remaking rather than create original concepts. look at the music industry! its the same of remakes of older songs. the 2020s is turning into a reboot era. and u can say "people have made remakes and reboots for decades.. but not at this hype..

The truth is, these reboots don't attract my attention, I tried to watch Raven's and I felt very sorry for how they treated her character, what's more, I would have preferred to see Lizzie's as it is a program focused on how hard life can be. adulthood as it was adolescence.

They get some buzz when they’re announced, get a lot of views for their trailers, have several folks review the first episode or first season and that’s it….

The pandemic made the entire population nostalgic. On top of that, people that were kids at the time are adults now and work in the entertainment industry

Honestly, if they were going to give the reboot (about the life of a 30 year old) a PG rating, I am glad it never went ahead.

This reboot idea is fantastic i think. BUT ONLY if they bring adult content with it. I dosent have to be extremely inappropriate, but adding adult humor would be so much more enticing. keeping it pg is gonna make it feel so static and boring. This has so much potential… but they need to consider the audience when rebooting these shows… especially such an iconic and incredible show such as wizards of waverly place

I think people are rebooting literally everything because they've run out of ideas on anything that's actually GOOD!

My opinion, how the Wizards of Waverly Place reboot should of be it should be family friendly but It should be a Drama instead of a Comedy It needs to be more of a serious tone show for The fans of the original alex should still be the main character. All grown up She does not have any kids and it would will remind you more like Harry Potter and fantastic beasts but without the school!

i was kinda hoping they didnt touch wizards but after hearing alex wouldn’t be a main character im kind of open to it. she was the main character originally and seeing them undo her characters development wouldve sucked. plus she had her own movie where justin wasnt in it so him being a main character and a follow up would make sense

I wish a reboot was just running the show again. I think a lot of these live action or generational reboots are trash, and I would be so happy to share shows I love with people that had never seen them before (either those my age who just missed out somehow or those younger than me). lol Wouldn't that be an easier cash grab anyway ? Get the money for it being streamed or aired and not having to pay actors, writers, etc. for a whole new production ??
@TrulyMademoizelle3 ай бұрын
A Wizards of Waverly Place reboot isn't a bad idea. It can work, but honestly who is it for?? An audience who are now adults, watching a kids show on Disney Channel?? And if Lizzie McGuire is an adult with adult problems then why would Disney reboot that? They should just settle for a movie and call it a day. This is the problem with reboots and sequels. Doing them for a cash grab, not because they're needed or would make sense.

Please stop with the reboots! Theyre never as good as the original. The writing is trash, the jokes never land, and the new actors dont live up to the original actors. And it would make more sense Jake T Austin to be the main character. He was more interesting than David character to me🤷🏽♀️

the child stars are so stuck in the past that even people with adult mainstream like selena are clinging to an old ip..her giving any time at all is such a strange career move given she keeps saying she wants to focus on being taken more seriously as an actress

I don't see what the problem with her returning as a character that literally launched her career? She's not that good of a singer but her acting is amazing especially as Alex... So let the girl be Alex again
@MoMo-rx4zr3 ай бұрын
@@joshg7120her acting outside of disney is okay, but since she wants critical success rebooting a disney show is a strange move given that disney acting and serious acting is very different. I love Only Murders but her character is supposed to be nonchalant and she plays it more stiff. I’d rather see her put more energy into more acting roles that could help her grow as an actor. I also feel like the reboot culture of anglosphere is getting tired. Ultimately, it’s just my opinion. I’m not stopping her lol; it’s not my career and she can do whatever she wants

So Hillary Duff can't get Elizabeth McGuire reboot that will actually challenge your character but they're going to do a wizard with barely any of the cast and Selena Gomez being special guest star then what's the point Like why accept it getting what I mean and honestly it kind of sounds stupid for David's character Justin and give up his magic when he loved his magic. And I mean if Selena Gomez can do that Hulu show she could do the wizard show too That's how I look at it. But didn't just makes you want to be like okay well there's some other Disney shows that needs to be matured or whatever and I think it's time for Disney to do a little bit more mature shows then if that's the case if you're going to bring these nostalgia shows back then you have to be realistic to the fact that the people who grew up watching them want to see these characters mature and the topics need to mature as well
