Possible. They are/were friends. I am sure he would like to remove her but probably doesn’t want to embarrass her more than she already has done to herself. Also a lot of the sequel movie problems are just as much on iger. He and Disney wanted immediate return on an investment vs actually taking the time to have a plan. I think the failures of the shows and the high republic initiative are more on her and who she hired to manage/produce those.

They aint doin more high republic era. I loved Acolyte, but they lost on that series so bad. They didnt even figure out how to smear it with nostalgia aside from a shoehorned partial cameo in a post credit scene. Just do it without the connection to the later films so we dont have to shift our knowledge of characters and timelines.

There was so much hatred for Last Jedi because it was different and swerved us and didn’t just give us more of the same, and now people are looking at it like “oh yeah, it was different, we need more of that”.

They should do a Darth bane trilogy. They could use the books as a blueprint and go from there

Just another example of Disney buying a property, then instead of adding to it, just want the quick buck by kinda giving the same stuff that was done in the past. This sequel trilogy just screamed nostalgia bait. 7 had a chance, 8 is just a re-imagined 5, and I don't think they even knew what they were doing with 9 since people didn't like the previous one so much. Just, prove to us, Disney, that you are capable in directing a franchise somewhere, that's not just a live action remake, or a nostalgia safe option. Prove to us you can even have ideas, let alone good ones. Star Wars has suffered through it's tenure. And it's a real shame, as the characters could have all been memorable, if they knew what to do with them. The Ray and Finn arc could have been good, instead of... what we got. 7 Showed there was a chance with those characters, but then the got u-turned, and just... made them insufferable. Not to the actor's fault mind you. Just bad writing. Just... drop this era entirely, make a fresh start in a different era, then you don't have to worry about having to not tread on someone else toes. You don't have to worry about keeping to the lore strictly when you are hundreds of years in the past/future, where there isn't as much established lore. Stop beating the same dead horse, over and over, and try fleshing out the lore in different eras that don't have as much. When you make something new, there's where the interest will be. Making a movie just for nostalgia's sake is fine and all, but if you're going to try and spin that as a franchise, nostalgia by itself isn't going to cut it. If you're just going to repeat the same treads, I'll just watch the first 6 episodes again, because what's the point otherwise?

There are SO MANY books in "Star Wars Legends" that would work well in movie form. I was 3 years old in 1977 when Star Wars premiered, and seeing that movie is actually my first clear memory. I was hooked, and love the entire franchise to this day. Has everything under the Star Wars banner been great? No. But even the worst of it is still entertaining if you're able to turn off your brain to enjoy some mindless entertainment. I know people who refuse to watch "The Clone Wars", "Rebels", "The Bad Batch", etc... because they are animated. That's some of the best stuff in all of Star Wars. I guess you can't please everyone... especially Star Wars fans. The "Fandom Menace", indeed

Not enough fans are interested in Rey or what the current state of LF has planned. Time for a reset of the Disney canon. I will say I love andor and mando 1-2 though. They do need to consider other eras. The high republic didn’t get near the interest the legend stories did. It is obvious the current LF doesn’t have the experience, talent, or knowledge to make engaging entertainment.

I along with many others love Rey, I remember getting talked down to as a kid because for loving the prequels and Anakin being my favorite character, now the same thing is happening with the sequels and Rey.

@ that sucks. I get it. And yes there are a lot of fans that like Rey and the sequels. Fans are also ridiculed for not liking them. Heck even by the creators themselves. The problem for Disney to solve is how do you move forward in a way that doesn’t push more fans away and gets a lot of the fandom back. Not an easy problem to solve. I didn’t like a lot of the prequels either but they didn’t make me stop consuming Star Wars.

Random thought - I’m kinda surprised they haven’t decided to do “Top Gun in Star Wars” and do a show where Poe Dameron puts together a rag-tag squadron of pilots as the Republic reconstitutes to take on pockets of First Order holdouts post-TROS. That to me feels like guaranteed money-maker if they do self-contained episodes like Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. The overarching story is loose enough that anyone could tune in and watch when they want.

I'm still not sure there's anything particularly compelling about the Star Wars universe without Luke/Anakin (and I feel the same about Middle-earth without Bilbo/Frodo, or Dune without the Atreides, or Harry Potter without Harry Potter, etc.) Everybody wants their property to be a cinematic universe, but it almost never works.

if i was on the writting staff of the proposed episode 10....i'd set it 5000 years in the future...the jedie, sith, empire, new order, the skywalkers and the palpatines would all be MYTH....legends that are so faded into the mists of history that it will be all new characters....new situations....the jedi and sith are long gone....the force would also be a myth until one group of new characers rediscover the Force, but no jedi or sith....those 2 orders of Force Users would be legend.....familiar planets and speicies would remain...but Tatooine would still be there but NEVER mentioned or visited.....Coruscant would not longer be the capital....but the capital would be another city-planet......droids might be redesigned to be more sophisticated, but still having features that identitfy them as droids and continue to keep the bridge over hte uncanny valley.....tech would no longer be analog.....the great barier that bisected the galaxy would be on the verge of being breached.....but no Skywalkers or Palpatines

Hoping for something new. It’s a shame that so many sources like KOTR and Legacy aren’t used, good basis for stories outside of the Skywalker saga.
