They really need to fix the Indiana jones section at DLP. It’s such a shame to keep the large space behind it empty. I hope that once the new Indiana jones ride has opened at Disney world, and if it is successful, they will bring it to Paris. I’d like to think they’d build a unique ride but that ride type is unlike anything else at Paris so will be a huge addition to the resort.

That would be the best case scenario. Have a major overhaul of Temple of Peril with new tracks, theming and effects and build Indiana Jones Adventure to its side!

The current Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril needs to go and be replaced with a proper immersive roller coaster that is actually based on the Temple of Doom mine cart scene. With Univseral’s Donkey Kong Mine Cart Madness,, it would be the perfect opportunity to have the ride vehicles “jump” off the rails at the end of the ride. Fun fact: Audio recordings from the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad trains were used for the mine cart segment of Temple of Doom.

Personally, I believe that the properties of Lucasfilm deserve their own completely separate theme park. And I would have a large Indiana Jones theme area of the park, which would serve as a sort of a more thrilling version of the world showcase at EPCOT.

A very similar idea to the Indiana Jones land in Paris was also proposed for California where the Indiana Jones Adventure is today. I think a lot of the issue with both projects was the passing of Frank Wells, who was particularly responsible for the parks’ successful rides of the 80’s and early-mid ‘90’s. Eisner worked with him well, but not as well when he was on his own afterward.

The underwhelming opening of EuroDisney, Wells’ passing, the uncertainty of the mid 90’s at Disney and other definitely contributed to this.

Just came back from DLP. Big Thunder, Space Mountain and Phantom Manor are excellent but the parks will never reach the levels of Anaheim. Still love it.

It’s the most beautiful castle park in the world imo but the park can never reach the level of anaheim due to their french speaking employees and lack of money for investments. Last new ride opened in the castlepark was 1995

I thought Temple of Peril was the worst ride at DLP. Very uncomfortable and I couldn't wait to get off. There's so much land around that area that they should tear it down and build two new rides - but that's never happening. I expect this ride will still be giving riders whiplash in 2040.

Indiana Jones is in a very sorry state. The ride is incredibly rough and it’s impossible to ride it without hitting your head on the sides many times. Disney should either completely retrack it or tear it down, one of which might actually be closer to happen than we think 👀. Soon, if things go as rumoured, BTM and Space will both close for very long periods of time in order to conduct very thorough works. Hopefully we learn more about this soon.

@themainstreetnews this type of ride system works best for something like The BigDipper by Mack Rides. The car is short wheel base and can make quick turns that are smooth and fluid. Maybe a full retrack would still work.

i'd really rather they use the land for something else, the indiana jones IP is just not one of my favorites and it's getting more and more stale with time. even if they just end up building the indiana jones ride from anaheim/tokyo (and soon to be orlando?) i'd rather they give it a different theme.

It’s such a brilliant ride tho, cannot get enough of indy. Done the tokyo version where all effects work and that makes such a difference if you compare it to anaheim
