I saw a video on KZbin yesterday about Jack's Long Goodbye. It was incredibly sad & I found myself crying throughout. I don't live in Ohio. Doesn't matter. I knew Jack Hanna from TV - his shows, his guest appearances, specials, etc. I pretty much grew up watching Jack Hanna. I think I cried because I respected Jack's empathy with animals and how he always strove to educate us. I guess I thought he'd always be there in his Aussie hat and khakis. I admire how his wife did not shed a tear - she's so strong (I recognize she has shed her share of tears).

I just watched The Long Goodbye piece-I didn’t know Jack had Alzheimers. I’m so sad to see how this wretched disease has stolen him from his family and his extraordinary life. I hope he passes gently-as was his life and love for animals. He was and is wonderful human being.

One thing you shld never do to a person who has memory issues is to quiz them. “Do you know who this is?” types of questions serve no purpose other than to possibly make the person struggle and feel bad. We know they don’t know the person or their name so it’s more humane and much kinder to word it like this: hi! I’m your daughter sally! You know they’ll never get better so accept it and help them by just providing information instead of quizzing them.

Correct. I have read that, you should never say the word, remember. Remember this, remember that. Talk in the presence.

Jack taught us all to value and cherish our world and our animals, maybe even how sad it is, to be caught up in this undiscriminating health issues are another way for this great man to give back to his fans by saying unknowingly this is something we might all have to deal with one day,and if help for this is available in time, maybe Jack had a hand in that also,in some small way!!! JUST SAYIN,WE ALL LOVE YOU SUZI AND JACK!🥺

I watched Jack Hanna on Tv even after he wasn't hands on in Columbus any longer. My kids grew up going to the Columbus Zoo. My grandkids have been also. 2 grands,my daughter and my mother went June 17th for my mom's 79th birthday. 😊😊😊😊 Jack really got the Zoo heading to the right direction. ❤

It’s a horrible vicious disease, I lost 2 close relatives to it & will probably always have a degree of ptsd because of it. As bad as it seems right now for his family it’s only going to get a LOT worse when it starts doing more damage to the more critical parts of his brain. His family needs to enjoy the pieces of him still remaining while they can.

they spend 9 minutes talking about a senile old man but spend 20- seconds on a kid getting murderred. disgusting.

Will someone spend time with you when you're a "senile old man?" Seems doubtful due to your attitude displayed here and that you align yourself with a gangster.
