Hey everyone, it's RollingOps back again, and let me tell you, this entrepreneur life ain't always sunshine and rainbows. Lately, my real estate projects and fun truck project have hit major snags.
Unexpected delays, mismatched parts, construction headaches - you name it, it's thrown a wrench in the works. These things have started to drain my cash flow faster than a leaky faucet! That and just daily operation mishaps in the dumpster business.
But hey, that's where the beauty of diversification comes in, right? Thankfully, the dumpster business is firing on all cylinders right now. It's like a financial life raft keeping all my other projects afloat, even if it's a bit slow-moving at the moment.
Maybe I've been spreading myself a little too thin lately, juggling a million projects at once. It's definitely a learning experience - the struggle is real when you're hustling on multiple fronts!
Here's the plan: Instead of getting starry-eyed over a new project, we're going to buckle down and focus on fortifying our existing income streams. No more burning the candle at both ends!
So, if you're an entrepreneur yourself, you know the feeling. But remember, even with setbacks, there's always a way to adjust and keep moving forward.
Let me know in the comments if you've ever faced a cash flow crunch with your business and how you got yourself out of it!

Just a suggestion. Being from farm country and having to make things work. Can you take the spindles to a machine shop and have them turned down a bit to fit the next size?

Hey I’m a heavy truck mechanic. There is the spindle doctors they might be able to help you. Typically they remove and replace spindles on semis when they over heat or strip out. Also a transit bus has a front axle that might work for you they use a simple axle with air brakes ,typically they use air suspension
@rollingops
@rollingops Ай бұрын
@joshuaavila8317 I thought that might work! Especially on the front. MY only concern is when altering it, the wheel seal may not butt up against the axle as well, especially in the rear. Also, was thinking that on the rear, the depth will need to be nearly perfect in order to allow the axle shaft to seat properly. I'd imagine it is very doable on the front, but the rear maybe not..I may do some research and call around

Without a doubt, this year will be worse than the last. I lost a lot of money last year as a result of bad investment choices that I would not have made if I hadn't been so worried about my portfolio. I kept investing, but I couldn't determine whether to start paying for a house. In the end, I sold my positions, and the house needed more work than I had planned. I'm not sure how long I can keep going like this

Ditch the 2 speed. Find a totaled semi with 3.73s or deeper. Then you have steer axles and drives(even a 2nd powered axle with power divider) maybe even get wheels. And air ride drives. Then get a medium duty 10 speed or 13 speed. You'll enjoy driving it far more. Get fancy while you have it apart air ride front and ride like a caddy

Hey Clayton, hang in there buddy, things are moving for you, but you have quite a bit on your plate. Thanks for the update on the storage. I think you need to bring in a project manager to help lift some burden off of you with your storage, your duplex and possible assist on getting the Betty White truck operational again. I'll tell you selfishly, I'd like to see Betty White returned to being a dump truck, put the old wheels back on it and just paint it up and make it look fresh down the road and use that primarily for advertising your business and charity events. Thanks and all of the best to you and your family. Brian - Prosper, TX

I appreciate your openness about your recent struggles. Your just like me. When I was younger i took on some relestate flips and a storage unit flip with a lot of debt. My goal was to do the labor myself and save money. Long story short, all the "savings" of me doing it cost me more in time and money than if i had just contracted the work out. Even today I always see a project and say that it is so easy ....i can do it and cheaper! Only now i have scares that tell me slow down....pump the brakes! Let's not do that hahah. Im not lazier, but i have my time in managing business, my hobbies, kids, and travel. I now have a successful medical repair business and relestate that is nearly paid off. My advise....Dont give up. Id focus on the second floor apt hard. Delay the truck or go back to the original wheels and get it making money....not looks at the moment. Also watch the debt. It makes mistakes or delays more stressful and costly. Dont stop! You got this

Are there any metal tags on the front axle or rear end housing with model or serial numbers? Do you happen to know if they are Meritor, Eaton, or Dana manufactured axles? Another option is to measure the spring perches from side to side and the track width as well. Might be able to find a medium duty steer axle and a rear axle out of a school bus, flatbed wrecker, beverage single axle tractor, or delivery straight truck. As those types of vocations are geared to run in the city as far gear ratio. And yes there is a far amount of that equipment with air brakes. Seen quite a bit over 25+ years working at International truck dealership and a few large national less than truckload (LTL) fleets.

I'm wondering what made you think your lift axle is suppose to be packed in grease. That's an oil style hub cap on there. I think you should be running 85/140 in both drive and lift. As for the bud wheels. They do look better than Datons but you can also have your Datons and spiders chromed and it will look fantastic. Last I'm calling BS on not having a seal. That's a standard seal and if they didn't have it on stock it's because someone dropped the ball and let themselves run out.
@rollingops
@rollingops Ай бұрын
@danlindey7368 so they gave me the wrong cap, and I just went with it, def a grease packed bearing setup. I'll change the cap later. But I liked the idea of packing that full of grease as well and letting it seep in there. The seal was an oddball size as well, but I was suprised they didn't have it in stock.

I’m not all that familiar with trucks that size, so I could be wrong. But couldn’t you change the axle, but swap the gears in them so you’d still have the same gear ⚙️ ratio? I know I can in a car, but I don’t know how complicated that would be in a truck that old and with 2 stages.
