Respectfully, you do not need a spiritual director. There's no person who can do that. Anyone holding himself out as someone to follow will inevitably prove himself a disappointment. Go into your prayer room and seek the Lord with all your heart. "Be Still and Know that I Am God". Seek Him every day with praise and thanksgiving. Ask and it shall be opened to you.

I’ve had similar things happen to me as well. But years ago, I met Jesus in a dream. He’s so cool, y’all. But he’s intense! He called me by my name. He forgave all my sins. That dream left such an impression on me. He was calling me. I’ve been on a journey since. I’ve had moments of consolation and moments of complete desolation. But I know God listens to my prayers. It’s weird how I know it, but he responds, even to small little things.

But above all, I commend to You the priests dearest to me; the priest who baptized me; the priests who have absolved me from my sins; for priests whose masses I assisted and who gave me your Body and Blood in Holy Communion; the priests who taught and instructed me; all the priests whom I am indebted in any other way. When in such a state pray to the Holy Spirit A lot and my personal advice would be, declare and praise God as hard as it seems, just thank Him for everything, do the opposite from what you maybe did before when you felt down or afraid or hopeless, go to Mass as often as you can even if you feel like you aren't getting much consolation out of it, the Lord sees your heart and desire to be with Him. And afterward, you can go up to a priest and ask questions.

I’ve been there. That’s the one thing I feel the church doesn’t do effectively. And it’s not the priests’ fault. They are overworked. The church is the problem, and Jesus actually showed you why, yet people still think they need to go to church where not even the pastors understand the truth of the message of Jesus......! "If I speak of myself I bear witness to a lie"....meaning that material life is an illusory sense of existence, and therefore, humans have no power to do anything! "I and My Father are One"....meaning, my Consciousness is Infinite, Omnipresent Consciousness. "My Kingdom is not of this world"....again, Jesus is saying that this illusory world is not his world. He demonstrated that life is illusory through what we've come to know as the Resurrection, but that is a false narrative because our True Incorporeal God-Hood cannot die, The real Resurrection was 3 years earlier when he Recognized God Consciousness as his Own Individual God Consciousness! We are Infinite, Incorporeal Omnipresence, and our reality is The Invisible Infinite, or God Consciousness!

One thing I might suggest is see what your priests are up to. They may honestly have too much going on at the parish that they barely have time for the basics. My home parish has a school and a missionary church that requires a lot of focus on top of normal priestly duties at the main church. My current parish is one priest handling multiple orgs, spiritual needs of local prisoners, and normal functions. Priests are human as well and are tasked with a great duty and responsibility that eats up a lot of time. Not helped if volunteers are too sparse to properly assist and the resources are stretched. Might I suggest begin with a small Divine Mercy group that meets around the church where you or another leader can organize. This way you can grow the DM message, help the priest provide something for the parish, and maybe inspire others to step up as well. That’s what a group I’m with did with a Marian study and praise/worship at the church. If God has lit your fire for DM, then maybe it is you who is being called to start it, not the priest.

Wow Thank you SO MUCH for this talk. This makes me feel not alone, I think this is what I’ve been going through. About two months ago I suddenly lost all appetite for my sins (hating others, not praying, food etc.) i just lost my appetite for all those things. I replaced all the things that used to make me sin with prayer, I got so much consolation I was in love, I was actually somewhat happy I no longer had those desires, not being angry does amazing things for your mental health. But about a week ago, everything went dark. The consolation stopped and I started doubting the existence of God and because of my pride I felt like such a fool. I know in my heart God exists but my rational brain couldnt and still has a hard time comprehending it. I began toying with atheism again, and saw the emptiness, feeling like life has no purpose my future is empty and meaningless. Not having God and thinking He doesn’t exist made my world crumble, it led to depression and I have felt physically sick and unable to sleep at night. Today Im getting some consolations, and hearing this talk shows me this is just God preparing me and makes me somewhat believe in Him more, since the stages of the experience is so on point with how you described it. Please pray for me as I still have those doubts, my challenge is the need for faith and that I can’t know 100%. Please pray for my strength to get through. Thank you so much for this talk

Fr Chris thank you so much for your excellent talks today your teachings are so good it is important to survive the dark night as sleeping because as wonderful devotions to the First Fridays and First Saturdays i like Thursday and Friday because it is my favorite day to preaching and prompting in the gospel readings to offer Mass on Sundays which everyone goes to be true and Holy Spirit preparing for the death as prayers for peace as Ukraine and Russia war as the Chaplet and Rosary to purgatory as explained is simple on Christmas Day and New Year's Eve on December 31, 2022 before started as traditions to many liturgical year and Precepts of the Church and domestic church and also the priesthood as Saint Faustina prays for us and Staff Members. Praying for you, your family and Marian Helpers and especially your Mom and Pam and Sandy also your Dad's healing of the grandparents. God bless you, your family, Pope Francis and Deacons and Marian Priests. Amen!

I really appreciate this talk. The part about being put into the dark so we can see reminds me of a story Jim Lovell told. Before he entered the astronaut program, he was flying missions off an aircraft carrier. Coming in for a night landing, he suddenly found himself in pitch black darkness. Night carrier landings are extremely difficult and dangerous; you can't do them in the dark! As he was wondering and praying how he would ever land safely, he noticed a green arrow in the water, pointing directly toward the ship. It was the algae that luminesces palely when stirred up by a ship's propeller. It was only visible because ALL of the lights, including the small instruments lights inside the cockpit, had gone dark.

But I'm trying my best to not lose my Faith. I always ask forgiveness but I know I have to go to confessions often to be forgiven. One thing that i honestly desire in this life is to be close to Christ. God please help me 🙏🙏

Sujata, it sounds like you're a good person. Please don't take this wrong as I mean no disrespect to you. If you pray for someone else, if you pay less attention to yourself and more on others who need it desperately, your life will become much better. If you feel that the world is falling down on you, it's also falling down on someone else. May I suggest that you take your worries about yourself to confession. You don't need to have what some counselors would call, ego. May God surround, embrace and richly bless you.

Dear Fr Chris... only God knows tonight how much you have revealed to me by this holy talk... how much you have helped me, how much your explanation of the dark night of the soul and everything it contains, mean to me... thank you! Before I converted to Catholicism, I went through a period of darkness, and one morning on my birthday, I sensed a beautiful presence in my bedroom and I broke down in tears... my life played like a movie before my eyes and I cried until I was totally stripped and empty. Afterwards, the whole of God's creation was awesomely beautiful and holy and I was filled with God's peace and His Love and Light, feeling like mountains had been lifted from my shoulders... I was a new creation, the most beautiful and precious journey in my life began and continued and a desire to convert to the Catholic faith was so strong, and by God's grace I surrendered, had catechism classes for a year and was received in the Catholic Church as an adult. I have never looked back as I was blessed by God and now at 75, I am on an even deeper journey into Catholicism and enjoy every moment of every day. GOD BLESS YOU FR CHRIS. NEVER STOP FOR IN HEAVEN YOU WILL WITNESS ONE DAY HOW MANY SOULS YOU HAVE HELPED! 🌹🕯🌹🕯🌹🕯🌹👐👐👐💖
