Looking forward to it Jacob 🙂, the paint color on your brake calipers look awesome, it'll be so cool to see in sunlight against your car's exterior color, so excited.

Looks a lot better already. In the cleaning stage you speed up things when you use brake cleaner to remove dust and dirt. This is actually the reason why brake cleaner exists, you just flush out all the loose dirt with the power of the fluid hitting it. When it has dried up the surface is degreased too and ready for painting.

Looks good dude. Man I want to live where rust is rare. That would be such a bonus.

Thanks you! Lol yeah it’s a nice benefit. The trade off is paint going to shit sooner from the sun though 😂

@@AutoAutopsy yeah. Starting to see the clear coat hazing and starting to fail on many around here in Ohio, mine included. Gonna wrap my combi soon before the flaking starts. Still, no other brand catches my eye like these do.

I've found it much easier to Paint calipers by hand with a small brush (on the Saab 9-3). It takes longer than spray, but it's much easier considering you don't need to remove the brakes/rotors, or spend a lot of time Masking. The texture on the 9-3 Brakes are bumpy, so a spray vs brush job doesn't really make a visual difference. (For people who want to paint, but aren't at a point of Brake/rotor replacement)

Yeah, honestly if you do it when you replace the rotors like me, masking is super simple. Probably took about 10 minutes per wheel at most

Looks great! Would love to have those kind of calipers on my 9-3, but i have 15 " wheels, so wont fit

Oh yeah :( those are some small wheels! I bet it rides super nice and smooth with them though

@AutoAutopsy4 жыл бұрын
I've always been a fan of blue, so I'd personally pick that!

According to the rust behind the rear brake, thethe floor should be checked ... the rear end is more susceptible to rust ... the weak points are the ends of the floor at the back ... roughly where the rear passengers put their feet ... at the very least, without repair, it can be slowed down by applying undercarige wax once a year ... they sell it in spray bottles that can be attached to spray paint gun and easily applied :)

It’s not rusted under there. Don’t worry haha

At least you didn’t paint them green, like my friends Skoda Octavia, apparently the VRS is supposed to have green calipers. A very weird car basically a Mk4 Golf GTI (1.8 turbo) dressed up like boomer mobile, but it has some cosmetic goodies and Skoda put vents where the fog lights where on the normal Octavia, but “the premium variant” needed fog lights, so the made a new head light hosting with an integrated fog light.
