I watched your video and made my own sock donner according to your instructions. It worked like a charm and now my feet are warm and cozy. Thank you so much for this life changing tutorial.

That's awesome Jill. I'm glad it worked out for you. Hopefully it was and fun to make. I am still using mine from the video. I added some duck tape; makes your foot slide easier and a little baby powder helps alot if your feet are damp. Thanks for viewing and may God Bless you always :o)

@@TheGeefunkera Thanks so much for the tip about duck tape and baby powder. I really want to thank you again for the tutorial. Sometime after I made mine according to your instructions I had a physical therapy appointment at the local health center. I told the PT about the sock donner I made from your instructions and how much of a difference it's made in my life. Then she said, "that's nice but we have this", and she sent me home with a very odd looking device that was supposed to aid with sock donning but didn't. I tried it once, it was useless, couldn't even get one sock on 😣. So I'm sticking with my tried and true rendition of your wonderful and fun to make sock donner.

@@jillm735 Yeah, seems like those devices are cumbersome to say the least. They usually are stiff and never flex enough for me. Thank you so much again. You made me smile :o) Good health to you

Thank you for this. My other half is having knee replacement surgery tomorrow...and he just tonight said we never discussed how he was going to get his socks on after surgery. His pre-surgical information suggested a sock puller or sock assist so I came to this DIY video and made one of these for him out of a one gallon heavier duty plastic jug. Not pretty...but no one sees it and most importantly, it's practical and works perfectly! Easy enough to do and it does the job. Appreciated your post.

Who are we kidding? Socks are hard to put on for anyone. This is a briliant idea, especially if you need one right now. Fortunately, if you search, you can find one on Amazon for under $10, if you're okay with waiting a few days for it to be delivered. That's what I ended up doing because I don't have much use of my right thumb after an injury. But I think your idea is amazing.
@TheGeefunkera11 ай бұрын
Thanks kitty, yeah I bought one of those on TV, but was awkward and not as flexible. Hopefully your thumb is healed up by now and you got all your strength back. Blessings and healing on you and your family in Jesus Name. God Bless.

@@TheGeefunkera find a tube size to fit over the cord and leave a bit of the end of the tube recessed out that way when you burn it it will shrink on the cord and create a sharper melted point to make it easier to sow the line through the plastic holes or slots and then you can cut off the sharp tips but not sure if the shrunken tube will stay in place after a while? ohh well juts make 3 or 4 round knots for handles on the end of each cord and cut the end tips off after that way you got more to grab onto when pulling ,mine only has one cord attached to a cut out of a yogurt tub container ,i juts need it so i can put half my foot in the sock and pull ,it dont go all the way up but for my needs it does the job since im then able to do a bit of stretching down to hol the sock end and pull it up,,does the job cause im tired of asking ppl for help each time lol

good video friend ,,i made something similar a while ago but it was not as heavy duty and only one string,,it does not pull the sock up all the way properly like yours does,perhaps im using it wrong or its smaller than my foot size,,it was just something i slapped together fast and i still have to do a bit of acrobatics to pull the socks up ,luckly i am still able to bend each leg under the other so i can reach the sock lip from the back side and pull ,as long as it helps me clear all my toes into the sock to give me a head start without my having to bend down because that was the main trouble for me so for now what i got works good enough ,ill have to come up with something better eventually ,,you are the only video aside from another on yt with a DIY on this sock helper and your vid was easier to see with the close up ,,thank you ,us disabled ppl have to stick together lol

Sometimes we get caught up in all the ruckus around us we forget to laugh and smile and enjoy the stories of others that have been, seen and experienced life at times that we couldn't. They are the real treasures. May those memories never fade away and her stories keep you going so others can hear yours. I know that Doreen is just beginning her next adventure and one day she can tell you some more. May she always be in happiness and may you always be in joy. God Bless Doreen

My model have V-cut for get sock easier on and friction mat strips help pull sock all way up. Plastic bottles are too thin and two or three layer of them increase stiffness enough.
@TheGeefunkera Жыл бұрын

@@TheGeefunkera When you cut both end of box which is size of foot and mark its bottom center point. From it to front corners cut V shape opening. Friction strips (1/4 inch wide) place is in corners.Cut sides to fit for good performance. Add plates in rear if it need more stiffness to keep sock open. Two rope help to pull.
