Just did this to my bike. Video is very helpful. Two items need clarification. Firstly, to unplug the wires to the throttle position sensor you will need to get a flat screwdriver behind the black plastic socket and prise off a wire clip that is out of sight. The socket will never come apart unless you get the wire clip off. Secondly, to remove the throttle cable metal tube, pressing the flat metal spring, which you cannot see, behind the mounting will do nothing. The throttle cable will come out of the housing easily, only after you have fully released that flat metal spring. To do this, get a tiny flat screwdriver under the top of the spring and prise it upwards. It's not a coil spring, it is a flat piece of metal that slides down and holds the end of the cable (i.e. the metal tube) into the throttle body. Before you do either of these activities stuff a rag down the top of the throttle body, just in case either of these springy things flies off and ricochets into the throttle body.

torque peak at 8k is pretty wild for a 2v. same cams as the other scramblers, which are quite short so that's impressive. well, i'm just looking at the specs now. 8 degrees less duration, but inlet actually closing 6 degrees later. exhaust opens 8 degrees earlier too - so you couldn't really advance it. wonder how that cam would work in an old 659? i have one i'm hoping to put in an old monster at some point. how does the power and torque compare to an older 659 or 696?

Nice one mate, only seen people sharing photos on this subject, up till this point. People seem to think you can get at that bolt from the other side, without removing the entire throttle body. Also, the photos I've seen don't look anything like what I am seeing in your video. So it would seem the internet is full of it, as usual heh *edit* Oh, wait, maybe your m659 is a different year to mine (2014) my rear suspension configuration is not the same... guess I'll have to go have a look and see what I can figure out.
@AWEdio5 жыл бұрын
Presumably this tweak will have no effect on my max top end, but it will just get there a lot faster! The dealership I bought mine from was telling me about the de-restriction option and claimed I would gain some top end, which made no sense to me...
@turbobike7495 жыл бұрын
Definitely the bike will gain top speed as it will make more power when derestricted . I would recommend getting it done only if your riding skills are ready for the extra power. Cheers for your interest and comments too.

@@turbobike749 I've had it for four years so I'd love the extra power, now in the UK where LAMs does not apply. Is the bike in your video a 2018 M659? @@turbobike749 Thanks mate, my friends and I have all figured it was going to be something inside the throttle mechanism on the handle bars. So although your video isn't of my model, it has still pointed me in the right direction! *edit* - Bike is now de-restricted. So much for jobs on Ducati being difficult lol I bet they amended the set up on the newer models to make it more difficult. The internet was right for a change, it was one bolt, accessible without removing anything else, took less than a minute. *double edit* - Wow, what a difference a bolt makes! I've loved this bike for many years, only now do I fully appreciate what it is really capable of. I absolutely agree with you, if someone has only recently passed, do NOT remove the restriction, unless you want plates in yourself, or worse.
