Oh Caroline! I'm an old grandma (66) and i have to say, you are the total package! I love your videos! Along with affordable (i hate the term budget friendly) decorating ideas, using what you already have, thrifting and doing dangerous electrical wiring, you ALWAYS make me laugh! This time it was when you said you were having some kind of stroke! I realize strokes are no laughing matter, but in your context it was hilarious! ❤ from Texas

I just have to say, it is so nice that Leen is a part of this makeover since it’s her house. So many KZbin makeovers don’t include the people who are going to actually live there. So many KZbinrs remake a another persons home in their own style without including that person in the decisions. It seems like often they will re-make a space in their own style and not necessarily in the style of the person who is going to live there.I really appreciate that when you have done makeovers you’ve included the people who are going to actually live there.

I don't appreciate those pushy pseudo decorators here on YT that always pressure people into decorating with what they personally like and not consider what their customer really wants and even low key mock the customer's preferences just because they don't personally care for their customer's style. A respectable professional always needs to respect the customer's tastes and work to please them and guide them, even through their more dubious choices' process, even if it is not their personal style.
@capedkat2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I liked that too. I think that Leen is a friend of Caroline and didn't mind being a part of this video. Perhaps a lot of youtube-creators/redecoraters aren't so lucky to find people who are willing to help and be part of it? But that's just me guessing.

Pro Tip when cutting wood and you don't want it to splinter or fray, put tape on the line where you want to cut! It will keep 'er nice and purty.

A few recommendations for another way to create a level line with peel and stick wallpaper: - if the wallpaper pattern does not require a vertical/portrait orientation (as the leaves and lemons seemed to be in many angles, with no strict 'upright' direction, this one did not seem to matter if it were rotated), instead apply it horizontal/landscape so the manufacturer edge becomes the level. Using a tape edge guide or pencil marks to help apply the now top edge straight. Ultimately, you end up only cutting the wallpaper at baseboards and windows, where you'd trim anyway. - measure the desired height and mark where to cut on the back of the wallpaper. Use a T-square to draw a straight cut line, then follow the line either with good scissors (that don't warp the cut edge like some dull or craft scissors do), or on a cutting mat with an x-acto knife and the T-square as a cut guide. - hide a wonky cut with trim, which can be wood, a separate wallpaper border, or even a craft, fabric or upholstery notion, such as cord or tassel fringe. Perhaps you'll see this (if you do) in time to save headaches for the next wallpaper project. Good luck!

When I did half the wall - paper, I used a trim around the end of the paper to cover any errors!!! WHAT A FABULOUS JOB on that light !!!! Well done!!! You can always put a new top on that table and cut a few inches off the legs to make the table long and lower, if she wanted that.

Measure and cut the wallpaper before hanging. May or may not be trickier to manipulate but then you’re not cutting into the wall. Also then your scraps still have the peel paper and can be used somewhere else and avoid having the sticky side exposed and wasted.

That wallpaper is one of my favorites! Were you aware of the light fixture ahead of time, though? I just checked out Room Mates paper and they have hundreds of choices. I would like to have seen something that worked better with that pink fixture. Your electrical experience cracked me up. This is just adorable! I am renting in France and have been so stumped about how to make this space feel like home. I’m going to look for stick on wallpaper! It’s an 18th century beautiful apartment, but I am not a formal person. I want to honor the beauty of the rooms and at the same time not be their slave! Dunno. I hope I can have fun doing it instead of making myself miserable. Thank you for your you.❤
