Man, having a youtube channel seems like the way to go. Free stuff galore... If only I didn't have the personality of a smooth rock! Fun series, good work :)
@diyfiberlaser13 күн бұрын
Stuff isn't actually "free"...as I still have to do lots of work filming things, but yes, I've been really lucky to get great sponsors to help fund these projects!

@@diyfiberlaser Oh I know, I was mostly making a tongue-in-cheek joke :) No hate at all, I love your content and I think MFGs are smart to work with you!

It’s been an interesting journey so far…even as a small channel like mine, I’ve turned down hundreds of offers for sponsorships…I always hold out for the good products/services that I would actually use…no VPNs, or shaving product promotion here! 😁

Can't wait to see the tuning process. Luckily there is only one motor per axis.....

Please put a grommet in the hole for the optical cable in the top panel. I don't know why but I can't handle it not having a grommet.

Did you manage to get the small drive associated to the f-axis using ethercat? Wiring mine currently 😊
@diyfiberlaser13 күн бұрын
Yes, it worked. I also had to wire up the z-axis homing switch, before I could home it, because for some reason it requires homing Z before it will home the F axis.

Travis, do you know the difference between the EL7 and EL8 series?
@diyfiberlaser12 күн бұрын
Obviously it's 1EL! : ) I don't actually know the specifics...EL8 is branded as their latest high-end drive, and EL7 is their mid-range drive.

Could you please put an estimation of the price for building one? thanks.

What was your shipping cost of all laser components from skyfire?
@diyfiberlaser13 күн бұрын
I don't have a good answer because all of my laser components weren't from SkyFire...the laser source was from a previous vendor.
@johnboon533013 күн бұрын
@diyfiberlaser They quoted me $4,200 for the shipping cost alone via airplane for: the Raycus laser source, Raytools cutting head plus controller and the water chiller. No way I'm paying that much for shipping! The cost of those components is about $7,000
@viadom758712 күн бұрын
@@johnboon5330 Raycus brand is banned recently. Apparently you can not import to US. For that reason you're paying that much high cost I guess.
@johnboon533012 күн бұрын
@@viadom7587 You are right. They quoted me the Max brand instead but the shipping cost remained the same

@@johnboon5330 Thank you for your feedback! We’d like to inform all customers that the shipping costs displayed on our website are automatically calculated based on standard rates. These rates may not account for combining multiple items into one shipment, which can sometimes make the estimate appear higher.
