Love the vid Joey as usual. Cheap, useful and easy to make....what else can you ask for. Thanks for sharing your knowledge man! Keep it up. Thx

I use that uni to uni knot for my home made Carolina ring. When it comes to gear that I have to buy it's only hooks, lures and weights. I have 2 of those water tanks and a family member who lives near the water thanks for the awesome videos.

Thanks, Bro I can see that being put a few different uses I hardly get to the Coast and end up fishing fresh water for BIG Catfish and that's a great way to save Bait. Period!

great video! What do you recommend as far as a homemade bait bucket to keep fish alive when youre taking the bait fishing? A video on that would be a great follow up!

The same type of drum works well. Just cut it down a bit.

Nice video! I've been thinking about building a tank down by my dock and maybe plumbing a water circulation system but this looks a lot cheaper and easier to build. I might have to try this for those long weekends of fishing, going out and planning an additional half hour to hour for netting bait really gets old after a while. I believe this style bait pen would be good for spending an hour or two one day on bait catching, then holding them to use for the rest of the week.

So nice to go fishing and already have bait .

Joey - Thanks for the informative video. You need to smooth the inside edges of all of those holes to protect the bait from injuries. A dremel tool would make it easy to do this. Also, instead of driling a hundred holes a few vertical slits made with a skilsaw would be quicker to make and allow better water flow than all those little holes.

Very good idea !!! Can you do the same with a filter or something to keep those bait alive on land?
@JoeyAntonelli6 жыл бұрын
A pump that recirculates water or air it's the water works well but keeping them in the water works best.

Gonna make me one of those things man. Gonna keep the kids in it when I go golfing! Don't worry, I'll leave the water out! : )

I don't know if I would do that if I were you. You may want to keep the lid on there. I think they're known for climbing and they can probably get out if you don't secure the lid.

Hey Joey, I have a handy tip with zip ties... If you cut them with a nail clipper they won't cut you when you rub against them... Your fellow zip tie technician Liam lol

Good tip.

No sanding the inside smooth?? So the bait don't tear themselves up?
@JoeyAntonelli6 жыл бұрын
I haven't done that yet. I did mention the video that some baits will beat themselves up on it. But I was in a hurry to go fishing so I didn't do it that day. Doesn't seem like it really affects pinfish anyways. They don't really move around a whole lot. Something like pilchards or Fred fin would probably get pretty messed up.

how do you catch your pinfish?I’m on the west coast and red tide killed off a lot of the pinfish here.

Nice DIY, turn the snipped zip ties end to the inside. The snipped edges will get you good while handling it.

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. You can spend them around and face them inside.

How long do they last? Like without food
@JoeyAntonelli6 жыл бұрын
Not sure but they will end up getting weak and beat up because they will be pecking at each other. Definitely good for a couple days though. I usually just buy a pack of frozen shrimp and after the second or third day just toss a few in there every day.
@natedraulans63536 жыл бұрын
Yeah they don't last long without food but I've kept about 60 alive for 3 weeks and fed them every 2-3 days they're really hardy.
