I'm so glad I found your channel! I used to do my own nails back in college with acrylic and monomer and paper forms. I think you would hate it compared to this Polygel, which I can't wait to try! The new products and forms look so much easier than what I used to use. And much less filing ... if you get your technique down well. I always do my dominate hand first when it comes to doing anything with my nails! Someone taught me a long time ago to always start working with your non-dominate hand/side first with anything, from your nails to working out!

I´ve been doing my nails for around 4 years now, about a month ago I finished my primer bottle and I went ahead and made my polygel nails with everything else on my prep, except the primer. 4 of them fell off within 3 days. Never underrestimate the power of primer.

Can you use alcohol as a primer or no? And is this separate from the base coat?

@@babysunface5645 alcohol/acetone could be used to dehydrate before your primer, but you should use alcohol, primer and then base coat in that order; those are 3 different products. After that, the polygel, hope I explained myself.

I started out doing polygel and my attention was then turned to dip acrylics and acrylic nails now I’m back to polygel and I have to admit I really appreciate poly and hybrid gels because I find that I can sculpt gel better on a paper form than acrylics. I’m not that skilled yet to work quickly with acrylics b/c they cure as you’re laying the product and slow cure monomers are IMO a pain yes they allow you time to sculpt but building the apex using it is kinda difficult so I’m back to good ol’ polygel:) Here’s a tip: take an eyebrow razor and thin out some of the brush bristles to make a ombré brush if you don’t want to buy one. Thanks for sharing

I’ve done polygel, dip, hard gel, and builder in a bottle. I find hard gel and BIAB last the longest, look the most natural, and are the easiest. I highly recommend you give them a try!
