If they had just left the gas cans the way they were, we wouldn't have to jump through all these hoops trying to fix the terrible new ones. Nice solution, might try this someday. I'm fortunate to still have a good working gas can from the early 00s.

You could probably sit on the curb at Walmart or some auto parts place and sell those things all day long. Make up a bunch (like a few hundred) and sell them individually, 3 pack, 5 pack or 10 pack. Fill up the back of your truck. While you're at it, build a good solid cash box to slip the money in...something welded to your truck, locked and just a slot in the lid...lol...but serious. You might want a buddy standing by packing a surprise in his waist band. Thanks for the terrific demonstration and camera work. Jesus bless.
@robertmceuen36305 ай бұрын
A 10 pack of those things would cost at least $125 just to make. You'de have to sell them for $200.😂😂😂
@davidbrewer7937 Жыл бұрын
The worst gas cans are the ones which do not have an air vent at the back. They instead use an inner hose which sucks the displaced fuel vapor as you fill. The first thing I do to these is drill a hole & screw in a 1/4_20 bolt! The EPA has a lot to answer for!
@c50ge Жыл бұрын
I install a metal (brass or chrome) truck tire valve on the flat spot on the upper handle. Remove the valve core (schrader valve) use a metal valve cap. I can empty an entire 5 gallon gas can in about a minute instead of 5 minutes. If I’m filling a small tank you can leave the cap on and control the flow. I like these valves much better because they don’t accidentally flip open.

I’ve chosen to fill my vehicles’ tanks with a modified elongated funnel and pour the gas in without any spout on the can. The spout is used just as a gas cap during storage and is removed before pouring. The elongated funnel sticks out of the gas tank at a roughly 45 degree angle a parabolic section has been cut out on on side that faces skyward enabling easy pouring of the gas into the tank. When filling a lawnmower a regular funnel works best.

I need a 3 foot hose to add onto existing EPA nozzle. 5 gal gas can is too heavy to hold up to fill a pickup truck.... I want clear tubing. I can set the can on the side of the truck bed, run the hose into the filler neck, and let gravity do it's thing.

I guess this is fun cobbling... However the EZ Pour retro fit kit is $9 at most local hardware stores or online. Fits almost every new plastic can...comes with extra parts, a flexible plastic pour hose, cap and a can vent. Makes your can just like 1990 cans.
