Great video. Thank you. Just got my Ftype S for couple of days and been smiling none stop 😀. Wanting to add spacers so this is very helpful for me. I wish that you have pictures and videos from a distance behind the car with one wheel with spacer and one without to compare. Most spacer videos have views from sides but I think the reason why we put spacers on Ftype is the view from the back to make it looks even wider sexier n more muscular. Just my 2 cents. Thanks for all great informative vids!

Great video, thanks for posting. I've ordered my Teeze 15mm wheel adapters. I have the 20" blade wheels on my F-Type R so fitting should be a breeze. Can't wait. UODATE: I got these and they did not fit properly, the centric hub hole on the spacer was was too small so the wheel would not seat correctly on the Teeze spacer.

Best video on this I've seen. The question for most of us is - Does 3mm (15mm to 18mm on the adapter) matter enough to go through the process of shaving off the hub bolts. At the moment, I am thinking not.

Looking for that same effect here just want to make sure I'm interpreting this video correctly... So I can get 20mm adapters with no adjustment/shaving necessary correct? Do you have a link you could provide to make sure I get the right ones? Thanks in advance! Love the channel BTW!

Connor, it has been several years since you first posted this video. I own a 2017 F-Type SVR. I am about to put new tires on it and I am looking to install the Michelin PS4's. I will buy 295 for front and 305 for the rears. I'd like to keep my stock black gloss wheels that came with the car, but I would like to use spacers to beef up the look. What size spacers do you recommend for front and back without having to shave some of the threads off? But I'm curios if I really need to shave the threads in order to get the look I'm looking for. Thank you Conner

@@skrrtgarage3922 After thinking about this, I'm planning on going with the 18mm spacers on front and back. To do this, can I just use 18mm spacers, or do I need to go with those adapters that you used in this video. And finally, what specific brand and product would you suggest? Thanks Connor.
@Tucis133 жыл бұрын
Hi you mentioned that you can run up to 20 spacers w/o any modifications. Is it with a lowered car? If i keep same J then i can go with -20 front and rear on et and will be no rubbing? Standard et i think is front 55 rear 38
@skrrtgarage39223 жыл бұрын
You can lower it a little and still run 20mm, only issue is you cannot run any wider tires
@Tucis133 жыл бұрын
Done some research so if you lower the car maximum is 17mm if you want to keep same tires. 18mm will rub. 20mm is ok if you dont lower the car only. 15/15 is enabling you to put 265/305 but in that case you need new wider rims 9.5j and 11j
@relaxationandmeditation68394 жыл бұрын
Great video a just have a question, I’m thinking on going 17mm for the rear and 15mm for the front, but I’m afraid that for the rear since I want to put 305 with the 17mm I will go past the fender... which width are you running on the back (I have the black rims you show on the video not the carbon ones).... I will appreciate your comments
@skrrtgarage39224 жыл бұрын
I have 295. 305’s plus 17mm will most likely fit depending on the tire and if you are going to lower the car or not
@raymondchavez63474 жыл бұрын
Hey Conner, if 18 mm adapters don’t require any shaving, why wouldn’t you go with them instead? Do you think it throws the look off? I’ve read about people preferring 15 mm, but the difference seems like it’d be marginal and would also save some time and effort. Thanks for the great video!
@skrrtgarage39224 жыл бұрын
The 18mm spacers would be fine for the rears but in my opinion a little too wide beefy for the front. They would stick out a little past the front fenders

@@skrrtgarage3922 What are your thoughts on running the 18mm on the rear and 15mm on the front?

Hey Conner. So are you saying that you didn't need to cut off the 3 or 4mm for your carbon blade wheels to fit? I have the same setup (R w/ carbon blades) as you. Thanks for doing the research by the way. Thumbs up!
@skrrtgarage39224 жыл бұрын
Thanks! And yes that is correct, if you plan on using 15mm. If you use 15 or greater then it really doesn’t matter. To be sure, I would place some chalk/indicating powder on the end of the OEM studs... put the spacers on then the wheels and drive around the block. When you get home take the wheels off and see if the chalk has been rubbed off.

My 2015 F-Type S keeps overheating, at idle its fine. When I drive it I get a engine overheating and the coolant expansion tank cap shot off. I put more coolant in it and let it idle for 10 min and it ran perfectly fine for a day. The next day the same thing happened it overheated and coolant expansion tank cap shot off with coolant steam everywhere. it seems there might be a leak on the passenger side as well. thoughts on what could be wrong with it?
@skrrtgarage39222 жыл бұрын
That’s a tricky one, have you bled the system to make sure there’s no air in there? Find the bleed nipple, park the car on an incline, let the car idle with the bleeder valve cracked open and turn the heater in your car on full blast. Once your car blows truly hot air then you should be good to go. Bleeding a car can take a long time, it usually takes me 30 to 40 minutes depending on the car. Good luck!
@gggdjdj97332 жыл бұрын
@@skrrtgarage3922 Is the bleed nipple located on the expansion tank? or on a hose somewhere? I will try bleeding the system one more time. is there a specific coolant I have to use as well? I just used PEAK OET Antifreeze and Coolant European Vehicles Pink 50/50 for jaguar, landrover 1997 and up. My uncle thinks it might be the thermostat housing that has gone bad on the car. that part along with the coolant temp sensor is coming in tomorrow, just incase.
@skrrtgarage39222 жыл бұрын
Yea it could certainly be the thermostat, thermostats open at specific heat ranges to allow the coolant to flow. Plus thermostats are pretty cheap, it wouldn’t hurt to start there and then do the air bleed. Normally the nipple is on top of the radiator. Not from the expansion tank.

If you want the widest then you’ll have to get aftermarket wheels. It can be a little tricky to ge true fitment correct. The widest I’ve personally seen is 305 rear section. But a 315 might be possible

I'm confused. Your rule #3 states that if you have the carbon blade wheels, you don't need to shave any thread off your studs for 15mm adapters. But then when you did the work, you shaved 4mm off your studs to fit 15mm adapters, and you have the carbon blade wheels. Why did you shave your studs for your carbon blade wheels?

Not a problem at all man, especially for a fellow Oklahoman! The f type really isn’t bad at all, the v8 is better than the v6 as far as reliability. The only known thing for these cars to get is leaky/stuck open injectors. Which isn’t that hard to fix on your own or have a shop do it. The best thing to do is stop is from happening is run injector cleaning in your gas tank a few times a year and you won’t have any issues

You install spacers on a f-type just like on any other car. You don’t. Buy wheels with the correct offset to begin with. You can use adapters just make sure you torque to spec multiple times 1 at install, 2 after first quick drive, 3 after 100 miles 4 after 500 miles. After ALL that you will STILL need to check them every time the wheel comes off and periodically between rotations. “You don’t rotate a staggered wheel set”!! (Yes you do!! With the exception of directional tires!! Then no you don’t rotate.) Seriously though, gets some damn wheels that fit with correct offset. You got cash for a Jag then $4k for an ok set of wheels is no big deal. It is far safer than adapters.
