75 grams of mochiko (2/3) 100 grams of sugar (1/2 sugar) Whisk 100 ml water Whisk until no more lumps Place plastic wrap on top Place in 600 watt microwave for 2 min If wattage is higher, use defrost setting While it's in microwave, take a cookie sheet and dust with potato/corn starch with sifter Give it a stir after 2 min Place plastic wrap on back again and put in microwave for 40 sec After 40 sec, whip it up so it's well incorporated

This was really helpful because I have to make a Japanese dish for my Japanese class

Made this today! Was fabulous. I made much smaller ones, about 2 tsp of ice cream each, and ended up with a dozen. I only chilled the dough once, it was plenty firm, and didn’t have any clear wrap, just used my hands to shape and places in my muffin tin in the freezer, came out great. Total time with waiting was about 1 hour, can’t wait to make again!

75g glutinous rice flour 100 ml water 100g white sugar ice cream into balls then freeze mix flour water sugar - microwave 900w for 1 min 20 s (cover it) stir then back in for 30 seconds parchment paper and heavily dust w cornstarch, pour dough on to it and dust more cornstarch press into large rectangle, chill for 30 mins cut into 8 equal pieces wrap ice cream and then wrap with clingfilm - chill for 30 mins

+Willow in my local Asian store, ice cream mochi is $4 for 6 mochies. My favorite is the strawberry one. I'm Filipino and Chamorro so I'm Asian (from the Filipino part of me) but I don't look Asian

The Mochi recipe ♡ To start off, you're going to pack your flavor(s) of ice cream into your ice cream scoop, scrape the excess off with a knife, drop your ice cream ball onto a cupcake wrapper (included), and then pop them back into the freezer to chill. This recipe makes 8 mochis btw. Next step is to put your mochi dough together. You're firstly going to start off by putting 2/3 a cup of mochiko powder (included) into a microwave safe bowl. You're then going to add 1/2 a cup of granulated sugar to the same bowl. Whisk the together before adding your water. After you whisked those two together, add a little less than a 1/2 a cup of water. Then whisk that together until well mixed. After you have done that, you're going to cover your bowl with plastic wrap and place into a 600w microwave for 2 minutes. While that's in the microwave, you're going to take a cookie sheet, and generously dust it with corn starch. After the microwave goes off, take your dough out and let it cool for 2 minutes then stir. It should be a thick paste. After you do that, place the plastic wrap back on top and microwave for 40 seconds. Take it out, and stir again. Your dough should look more like a dough and not a paste now. Now take that dough and pour it out onto the that cookie sheet you dusted with corn starch. Take some more corn starch and dust the top about the same amount. Now take your fingers to press the hot dough into a 6×12 rectangular shape. You should be able to make 8 mochis with this recipe so make sure your ice cream balls (lol) can fit inside your mochi squares. After you've done your rectangle, place your dough into the fridge for about 30-60 minutes to chill. After that, you're going to cut it into 8 equal pieces for your ice cream balls (lol). After you've done that, you're going to separate each of your mochi squares onto different layers of plastic wrap. Use a spatula to lift up the squares and dust off excess corn starch when placing the squares onto the plastic wrap. Put your squares into the freezer while you're getting prepared. When you're all ready to go, get your ice cream and squares out of the freezer, grab the muffin pan I included and put a piece big enough to wrap around the mochi on top of one of the muffin pan holes. Grab one of your squares, grab one of your ice cream balls placing the rounded side down, then fold the corners in, push it all closed and make the seam as smooth as possible. Then just wrap your mochi, twist, put the twist down into the pan, and repeat. After you're all done with that. Pop them into the freezer for a few minutes, take them out, and enjoy!
