Hi, Thanks for the detailed description! How about the Growatt inverter? How big is the power consumption of the unit itself? Would you recommend this unit?

This is not an of gridd system and the power consumption form the inverter i think about 30W, Growatt is a good solide inverter and you have 10 year of warranty. and the Price for the inverter was also ok 5Kw inverter price about 1600 euro. On my first inverter i had a problem but they sent me a new one. www.SpikeTech.be their you can read al the information about this project, i'm also starting an new small offgrid project with 1.4KW battery.

Hi Johan very nice project, I read everything about it on your website But still have some questions: you took 22S BMS for 110 cells, that is one BMS cable for 5 cells, right? the 5 cells you put in parallel to form 150Ah, and the rest in series to form the 48V, right? How is the BMS going to control the 5 cells simultaneously? I asume you have very little voltage difference between the cells in each 5 block, right? You measured all of them and put together the ones that are close to each other? Because you can't put a 1,85V with a 2,7V together, right? Otherwise the BMS wouldn't know the exact differences between the cells themself, would it?

Cells in parralel will balance each other. Ofcourse if one cell is broken you ll have to check al the 5 cells. Project wors fine for more than 18 months. Cell difference voltage is about 0.01 to 0.05 volts

@@vanstippelen perfect! Thanks for the answer I think I want to build the pack as big as possible, the maximum BMS I saw is with 500A and I may buy 40Ah cells. That brings me to a maximum of 12 cells in parallel And maybe also 22 packs as you did Do you thing this bus bar can handle 480 Amps? Do you need in Belgium more of these cells? Maybe you will give me your email address and send you more information, I may buy a bulk of these (40Ah) Grade A

@@vanstippelen i am wondering if the BMS is a good one to work with or you have come accross a better brand and model ? Initially the difference was 0.05 and now 0.1v ? Is it increasing with time ?

Safest, longest lasting chemistry battery there is other than an Edison battery but the latter has terrible round trip efficiency, heavy require maintenance and a rebuild to match performance. LTO batteries have a little less round trip efficiency and cost more than the Lifepo4. No other commercially available battery can match the discharge current of a LTO battery.

Its 150 ah but conveterted to my net i have 8.5 kw availible in 230 v.

@@vanstippelen You should stipulate capacity in kWh not kW. THEREFORE : 22S (2.3V x 22 = 50.6V) 5P (30Ah x 5 = 150Ah) = 50.6V x 150Ah = 7.59kWh @ 2.3V/30Ah per cell and you have 110 x cells SO : You have a 7.59kWh battery.

Thats theory but the cell have a more capacity then 30ah it s about 166ah and ful charge en decharge i get app 8.5 kw due my inverter
