DIY Mini Split System A/C Install. In this video I show you all the steps (Pouring a concrete slab, Installing electrical disconnect panel, Mounting and installing the indoor unit and outdoor condenser, Cutting refrigeration lines to size, Reaming coper pipes, flaring copper pipes, connecting refrigeration lines, hooking up the gauge set and vacuum pump, wiring up the indoor unit, condenser and tying into the main electrical panel) to correctly install a Mini Split System.

I have a pre-charged line set that has been vacuumed and filled with R-410a refrigerant from the factory, but I need to shorten its length. Once I'm done shortening the line set, and since the lines are factory pre-charged, is there anything special I need to do aside from vacuuming the lines and checking the microns before releasing the R-410a refrigerant from the condenser?

Nothing special, It sounds like you got it. I usually leave the vacuum pump on for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour and check to make sure that it's holding at least 20HG to 30HG of vacuum on your gauge set before releasing the R410a from the condenser. I hope this is helpful. Thanks for watching!

It's probably far too late at this point but if the LINESET is precharged then you cannot shorten it as cutting would release the refrigerant. Hopefully you didn't do that! Most systems do not charge the lineset, so you need to use the vacuum pump, but some (like Mr Cool) sell the linesets precharged so you just connect them and open the valve.
