You got it! Start with simple projects and solutions that just use a straight stitch and move on from there. I'm still v bad at sewing but enjoy doing the simple things like recreating hems, adding pockets, this video, etc. Just start with projects that are fun!

Recently made an undercover/vetements inspired cropped sweatshirt. Got got a blank of ebay in a 5xl to leave it super wide and boxy and just pinned it up an hemmed it as you would a pair of jeans. cut off the excess fabric and voila. Also added some patches just to cover the blanks logo and give it some personality

GearedTowardGear I just used the same technique you would use when keeping the true hem on a pair of jeans( lots of tutorials online). My current machine wasn’t able to get super close to the original ham for the ribbing, but in the end I really liked the look of the double seams at the bottom

something cool could be switching the pockets on each color so like in this you could put the brown pockets on the black and black pockets on the brown i think it would look cool and be a nice contrast

a cool idea you could do as well is have two pullover hoodies, cut down the middle of both, and use a two way zipper as the opening. this leaves you with just one zipper!

hey Avery, what sewing machine do you use? and would you recommend it? Edit: Also what I'd do is take one of the zippers off, fold the mid-front of the inner hoodie "lining" and stitch it with a double stitch.. makes it maybe more functional. I'm also really loving the double zipper look though. really excited to see where staats is going in the future. sure hope you guys will bring out some horror T-Shirts for summertime! 10/10 would wear. And not to forget, a very happy birthday to kailee!

I use a Singer 4423! Usually recommend people looking through the top rated machines on Amazon and weighing the different features to find what's right for them. This one is just sturdy, simple, and has a gorgeous shape (lmfao). Grabbed it on sale too. Absolutely. Great idea with a double zipper! Wish I had the time to carry out more intricate projects

A ZIPPER FOOT would allow you to sew closer to the edge of the zips!!!!!!!!! ......but then that might remove function of the zip bc not enough space for zip to zip HAHA SO A HAPPY ACCIDENT!

Totally feel that! I made this just as a durable sweatshirt to keep me warmer these past few months. Easy solution if you have some more time would be to replace the two zippers with a single double facing one.
