I made something similar in the ‘90’s with my then 9 year old. Ours was white, and we put it together like a pan pipe. It could be blown into, or tapped. Fun.

Gracias por realizar este sensacional tutorial de fabricación de éste instrumento, no lo hay mejor. Comentarte que deberías de comentar que el tubo marcado con la nomenclatura C5, hay que hacerlo dos veces, uno para la primera fil(al final) y otro para empezar la segunda escala, porque me he vuelto majareta creyendo que me había equivocado. Por lo demás, GENIAL...

Great! It is a tad bit out of tune, though. You should calibrate the tube tones with one of those sheap eletric guitar tuners for a fine adjustment of the tube lenghts However, as project for fun, it is awesome for sure! Well done!

Its beautiful, but I would have tuned it prior to securing the pipes in. Plus I would make one side covered in wood to reflect the sound, similar to an acoustic guitar.

Thanks for your comment. I cut the tubes following some calculations that I saw on the internet, I'm sure it can improve using a tuner. I thought about putting something like a sounding board but finally i decided dont make (maybe i try to make it to see what happens). Thanks to see the video. Regards👍🏼

La espuma le quita resonancia como dijo alguien por ahí. Mejor dejar la caja acústica vacía y hacer tubos más largos. Grazie por la idea en todo caso

Gracias a ti compañero. En mi opinión la espuma no hace variar el sonido, este instrumento no suena por vibración del tubo, sino por el aire expulsado, lo sé porque antes de colocar la espuma hice pruebas envolviendo el tubo y el sonido no variaba. Lo que si es cierto es que mientras mas largos sean los tubos mejor suena👍

Great. But there is a reason you don't use high notes in PVC pipe instruments. The higher the notes, the harder it is to hear the tone from the slap due to the amount of pressure needed in the slap to produce the tone. So you end up hearing more slap than tone. There just isn't enough reverberation in the higher notes to overcome the slap. Stick with MUCH lower notes, and you will have a MUCH better sounding instrument.
