DIY Shed Moving Trailer Build - Dump Trailer Hack
I go over the build process of transforming my dump trailer into a shed hauling trailer. I used to own a shed building company and had a few display sheds that had to be moved from time to time. So, I build this trailer to make the job easier.

This one was a 5' x 8' dump bed. The new flat bed was 7' x 10' (I think). It's been a while.

Nice video,… all said and done how much do you think you paid to do this conversion ( talking money )… asking bc maybe it would be very close in cost to just buy the deck over tilt trailer already made… that being said … I like the single axle ( not sure I could find a already made single axle deck top tilt trailer ) , again thanks for the video… gave me lots of ideas.

I can't remember the cost of the materials. But I would guess that it was a lot less to build than to buy. This particular single axle had a 5200 pound capacity and had electric brakes. I would say that if I make another one ( for moving sheds ) I would use two axles. Although, later after I quit building sheds, I put the dump trailer back together and bought a 3500 pound single axle and bolted it to the deck and made a very nice flatbed trailer.

Great video. So the strapping over the skids was all that was holding it down?

That is correct, the winch hook was attached too. The skids were fastened to the floor framing with large screws when I built the floor.

Good job. You actually have a multi-purpose trailer. Put the dump box on some skids. Installer rollers on the back. On the draw bar Install a set of bearings So that when you pull the draw bar forward The bearings Get pull down into a channel So then you have no rolling friction. I built a roll of dumb trailer For Roofing. I wish I had a thought of your drawbar Idea. Works pretty darn good.

@@Makebuildmodify When I Made my Trailer,I The Axles as far back as I could. Because you can put the load were you want and Strap it down.

The original dumping trailer has a 5800 lbs capacity axle with breaks. So it's just strong enough for small sheds. A tandem axle would be a lot better.

Sorry, I guess I wasn't that clear in the voice over. The shed was an advertisement for more sheds. I was just taking advantage of the home buyer traffic during the time the home was on the market.

Sorry, I've sold this trailer. So, I wouldn't be able to do it even if I wanted to. But a 10x12 will easily fit on a flatbed tow truck. I've had local tow companies move sheds for me before. Just an idea.
