Did you use some sort of grade 8 equivalent of all thread? I don't imagine the typical hardware store kind would hold under much stress, infact I know from experience in using it to bolt together suitcase and/or wheel weights in order to increase front end load of my tractor I use for the heavier duty plowing/etc type stuff, that it can/will bend. Maybe its different since the weight is held differently in this application, but ime grade 8 is always a must for things like this

Its 3/4 diameter 50000 psi tensile strength zinc plated. The way the force is applied in this application to the rod is under compression . In the example you provide you are using the bolts relying more on Shear Strength which for sure a grade 8 bolt is stronger in shear. I have lifted some really heavy things with the forks and have not had any problem with the 3/4 rod clamps.

I woulnd have your stop so small @1:44 lotta pressure at that point. how is your bucket holding up? I wanna build these but a little worried i'll bend the bucket. not sure if i need chains...guess it depends on what load to be picked up

I have not had any issue and have lifted things heavier then the loader is deigned for. I try to make sure I line the forks up with the reinforced wear bar sections of the bucket. For extremely heavy loads I put the Forks at the edge of either side of the bucket. The stop being small has not proven an issue as most of the load is carried by the bucket edge that is extra thick and reinforced with solid round bar. Chains would be a good solution if your bucket is thin as they would transfer some load to the top edge of the bucket.

I think you bought them.. not built them

Thanks I'll take that as a compliment of my workmanship. I definitely did build them from recycled steel the design is similar to commercial available options.
